Rather than hard wiring my dash cam I'm adding an extra 12v outlet in my jeep. I'm going to put the new port down near the passenger footwell, and run the cable around the windshield and behind the dash, keeping it all out of the way. I thought about hard wiring, but this way will be easier and give me more options.

That looks like a pretty good sized gap - I see people ride through those all the time here in San Diego. Some people just don't value their safety quite as much as the rest of us.

Just be careful - it fell off yesterday after months of being stuck on. I licked it and got a couple months of trail dust on my tongue.

You guys would probably be smart enough to just use your finger though...
