I haven't been getting into new synth stuff that much lately, but Ferus Melek's new album We Don't Belong Here from this year is pretty fuckin' good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssZJTh2bCOo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZlqpZ9j8jg A bit before that I also discovered last year's Invaders from Hollywood Burns and it's loving FIRE. One of the YT comments just says "Dance with the Brut" and I think that's a pretty good summary, really, though in addition there's also some orchestral soundtrack flair thrown in for good measure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0lk5x0l5Is And as a parting gift I'll just leave this here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_z2ZyBt2Qcs

Dance with the Dead put out a new 3 track EP http://dancewiththedead.bandcamp.com/album/blackout It is, as usual, vomitously catchy and I love it.

shirts and skins posted:So after listening to much Lazerhawk and Perturbator over the last year or so I somehow missed getting into Carpenter Brut? And it's amazing? I'm sure this is very much a babby's first post for this thread but this poo poo rules. Check out Dance with the Dead next

RE: Soundtracks, the Stellaris soundtrack has some pretty great synthwave-adjacent stuff on it too. Especially the tracks introduced with the Synthetic Dawn DLC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YGXDYWCyoY It's just a truly brilliant soundtrack all around, really. Wow this new Brut single is rear end. Sounds like some modern radio station alt-rock poo poo. Fortunately the new Dance with the Dead is loving fire.

Not the usual fare for this thread, but: The metal band Unleash the Archers made a synthwave version of one of their songs, and it slaps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh7RbbeBMa4 (this was the second time actually, but the previous one was purely instrumental and didn't have a sick sci-fi music video to go with it) Nordick fucked around with this message at 01:57 on Sep 18, 2022 |

Some parts of that Volkor X album reminded me of Machinae Supremacy's slower material, somehow. A different genre of music obviously, but a similar vibe.
