A caller from Canada called in and said the same thing pretty much and they shot him down and called him an idiot. They think people want new content mainly because the old poo poo is just that, old poo poo. What they don't realize is there is a large number who would prefer to hear something else later in the day and actually listen to a 4 hour show and want more in their day.

Ron and Fez has pretty much dropped off my radar since they moved. No clue why, I liked them, but I've listened maybe twice for 15-20 minutes since then. To me this says maybe the move wasn't as good of an idea accept for the whole Sirius people who don't pay extra can listen to them now.

Yeah, all they had to do was plug in an old Weird Medicine or DMSP and they'd have been fine. You ideally never want to not run live programming when it was supposed to go on obviously, but there are plenty of ways to work around it and his show isn't that big of a deal anyway.

They won't leave Sirius. They will either get fired(This won't happen either because they are too important for Sirius numbers) or Sirius will end as a company. That or they get really old and finally retire.

I love people with no fame in anyway who start generic podcasts. Some ideas are clever enough and if you get in early to podcasting you can fill that niche, but most are terrible and overdone anyway. Since I've been working in media, I see it constantly. If you look at it merely as a hobby or a way to refine your own on air talking/personality, fine. However, so many people have delusions of granger about their podcast actually becoming a thing of success. No one is ever going to listen to you talking for an hour about sports or whatever unless they know you, and even then most of them are just being nice. I've seen it through radio, a guy I know actually quit his radio gig and started a podcast network trying to get a niche audience through "city interest" (as in, podcast based around said city). I guess it's similar though to the waves and waves of people who create below par music who clearly aren't cut out to be a success in anyway but still take years and years to actually realize it. My point I guess is that podcasts are poo poo for income for people even with some fame so I don't get why so many people think it can be a thing for them.

Girl sounded loving bonkers to me, not saying she isn't smart but... the cutting poo poo, the insult porn, the face loving love and pre-school bathroom being "hot". Yeah, she will sound like Jenna Jameson did on the after show with Jim and Sam last year in no time. Also, gender studies is a laughable major and she is being wasteful with that money i'd wager going that route. If she wants to be a lawyer, you know, pre-law is maybe a smarter choice.

They won't quit Sirius, they have no other real outlet. Podcasting is a joke overall and they make a gently caress load from Sirius. Sure they whine because they don't make as much as Howard, but they know that they are overpaid and do no real work. They have fallback investments now anyway and could probably retire and live comfortably. But when your job is so easy and you make so much, you'd have a hard time giving it up.
