tsob posted:So when can we reasonably expect shipper girl to show up? I've read a few issues of the manga, but the anime seems to be doing them in order and I'm enjoying watching the anime more than reading the manga so I think I'm just gonna watch the anime for the moment and see everything fresh - at least until this season (assuming there's more) wraps up. Episode 3 of the anime covered Chapter 3 of the manga. The OVA already covered Chapter 4 (Sand Tower) and Chapter 6 (Cats) of the manga. Gotou (shipper girl) first appears in Chapter 22 of the manga, so she should appear somewhere around Episode 20 or so.

The OVA is not on Crunchyroll. But it's pretty funny. So watch it.

We see Seki creating the show in the show and getting Yokoi to voice herself. So, I'd say Seki is a stand-in of the creators. Instead of this being about Yokoi who has a weird desk-neighbor, is it really about Seki who watches Yokoi and her crazy imagination and how it gets her in trouble?

But of course. This episode wasn't quite as funny as the previous ones but I still liked imagining the rules of Go.

Nooo not the stamp. Poor Seki. And nice touch how everyone around him did not take down the notes for what'll be on the test, each for different reasons.

I just noticed at the end of the OP song when she says "Yamete" the Yokoi character on Seki's laptop mouths along in a stuffy-high-school-animation-project way. Also, gonna need an endless looping GIF of (07) classmate prancing away

He's recording her voice acting for the anime he's making. It's natural that her voice would sync up. On a related note, episode 6 changed that scene in the OP slightly, since Seki smiles and gives an "OK" sign. Normally he looks a bit disappointed. I suppose that's the take he went with.

I don't typically watch anime adaptations of manga, but this one just adds so much. The classic 70s robot song for the family (haha! Those lyrics!) was an excellent addition. Glad to see that the director is willing to put their own enhancements and flourishes onto an already entertaining premise.

I only noticed because I watched 6 and 7 back to back, and I realized he did a different gesture in 7 than he did in 6.

I cannot wait for the next episode after Yokoi was spotted putting the note in Seki's locker. I take it the show is skipping around the manga's chapter order? I was honestly a little disappointed the end of episode 06 didn't have Seki getting in trouble like Yokoi usually does, or her realizing she's spent the day wasting time right after the bell like the narrator said. Both could have made for hilarious reactions and they're almost the best part of the show.
