Goto's braids and her delusions are some of the best things in Seki-kun. I rejoice every time she gets a scene.

That was a phyrric vitory for Yokoi. But it's still awesome how she managed to really freak out Seki.

My favorite line this episode was "With it being so dark, Seki-kun won't be able to play! Pu pu pu!" Also, evil Yokoi is the best.

The latest episode's been up for a while. Hmm, honestly not really one of the stronger episodes, and I think it worked better in the manga than it does in the anime. The joke felt punchier and less drawn-out.

Yokoi's optimistic world view defeating Seki's evil. It was pretty great, although yea they've done that joke before.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqtOS1rgwaI English version of the OP. Official English version, sung by the singer of the Japanese version. I'd assumed so, looking at "Rumiko Varnes" in the little sentence at the beginning, and seeing how it's in the same place as "Diane Perrin" in the French version. It really does sound like Cristina Vee, though.

Dehry posted:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X80MV5Yw5dU Horrible. Truly horrible. She can't sing. The lyrics are completely divorced from the melody/rhythm and forcing the singer to stretch and compress syllables in completely unnatural ways. Why? The English version is competent. I don't understand why they didn't translate the 'yamete' at the end though.

Because it wouldn't match up to the very obvious lip flaps maybe? Hard to say. I'm amazed some of the versions lyrics fit as well as they do.

It confuses me that these translated openings exist. Even people who watch dubbed anime are totally down with Japanese language openings most of the time. Even if they were to dub it, this style of show has never been super popular outside Japan. And the kind of people who would watch a dubbed version of Seki? Probably down with an undubbed opening. This is not the first time anime has confounded me, of course.

It's a six minute long show with four different voices to account for, only one of which actually is common. It might just be a "Might as well!", p sure all the written Seki stuff has been officially translated.
