drat this first episode was pretty funny I'm looking forward to the next episodes. Never read the manga so I hope the jokes stay pretty fresh for 7~ minutes an episode

We see Seki creating the show in the show and getting Yokoi to voice herself. So, I'd say Seki is a stand-in of the creators. Instead of this being about Yokoi who has a weird desk-neighbor, is it really about Seki who watches Yokoi and her crazy imagination and how it gets her in trouble?

I hope one episode Yokoi steps up to Knitting Level 3 and brings in some tools. Then Seki sits at his desk wondering what the hell Yokoi is doing all class.
