I think the most likely loophole for the Necronomicon causing him to go insane, if it does, would be that it was made with "mental power." "Mental power" is the same stuff that's used to create new gods. It's supposed to be a reward though, so it would be weird if it had significant downsides. I'm betting Gamer's Mind will just shrug it off.
