I mean... The animation is bad at times, but fuckit, inbetween frames don't really count and the stationary shots look fine. What rubs me off is when I suddenly see a close-up with really thick lines, obviously coming from some other studio.

My problem isn't the off-model stuff (though it is annoying) so much as the blatant attempt to animate as little as possible. Characters movements are stiff and twitchy, with a lot of looping animations and repeated frames. There's little to no animation of minor objects like hair and clothes waving in the wind or power-ups, and there's very little camera movement during a scene. It's fairly blatant that they're trying to save money by having as little movement as possible to keep original animation frames to a minimum. And it's only a matter of time before the CG models rear their ugly heads again. I won't be surprised if we never get a sequence like Goku vs. Cell or Goku vs. Kid Buu, or any other heavily animated fluid fights like that, ever again. Others are still holding out hope, and I can't condemn that, but its plain to me that Super is another cash-in like GT that Toei cares little about because they know we'll all watch it anyways and buy merch no matter how much effort they put in. Like this is above and beyond ridiculous and basically implies the person hasn't watch Dragonball Z outside of specific fight clips on Youtube since they were a kid. How long you think it'll take before they go through the first two story arcs? Couple months? Tail end of the year? I can't for the life of me watch the jap version, Goku's VA is like nails-on-a-chalkboard for my ears. A grown-rear end man should not sound like a prepubescent toddler.

Then again, I guess Pilaf and Beerus aren't all that different, both are super-selfish, food-loving beings with egos as big as the entire galaxy. Whis has training with a far, far more dangerous version of Pilaf. That said, the whole episode was pretty good. Goku was having the time of his life in the fight, and him giving back Beerus' blows to him was hilarious. That Super Saiyan God is actually proving useful instead of just missing every blow and accomplishing nothing like in Battle of Gods is an improvement, perhaps the first Super actually has done.

It's been 20 years of grandma Goku, right? I feel like people should have come to terms with it by now. It's fine. That's what Goku sounds like. It's fine. Did it really come out that there are only 2 more episodes of BoG material? I can't wait. Give me Vegeta becoming a god and a Jaco putting around filler episode and I'll never think poorly of deathbed King Kai again.
