Yeah, the fast for a day thing is out there, it's also dumb. Basically if they're worried their dog is getting fat, then they should just feed a bit less per day. If they're worried about vitamin/mineral toxicities, then they need to change their formulation. If you're doing stuff for a few days because you have to, what you did was fine. The spices are a bit irrelevant, but not hurtful.
