Nowadays, most of us can't bear to be without our trusty mobile phone.

Clearly 16-year-old Ella Birchenough felt that way as she hopped into a drain to try and fetch her Blackberry after it fell out of her pocket. Unfortunately, she got stuck and had to be rescued by firefighters.

According to onlookers, the teen was quite relaxed about it all � and far more concerned with retrieving her phone. She told KentOnline: "I was talking to somebody and I went to put my phone in my pocket and it fell down the drain.

"I thought to myself, 'I'm not leaving this' and I jumped down to get it. I wasn't really even stuck, I just needed somebody to help lift me out but my mum got all panicky.

"When they pulled me out I ran straight home and jumped in the bath. I think it was just water but I wasn't taking any chances."

While Ella emerged from the drain unscathed, the same can't be said for her phone, which is now broken.

sell qnx make an android qwerty based on the q5 hardware (which actually looks quite nice imho) with a keyboard-optimised skin. ditch bes. stop selling bbry 7 devices asap.

in this case hes right but its an ugly truth. they make android heavily optimized for business with a bbos skin and keyboards and better exchange support more useful email and messaging features. idk if they should do play store certification unless theres consumer demand for it otherwise just ship with amazons lovely store to consumers and allow sideloading of android apps and use licensing and positioning to subsidize the phone (bing search nokia maps amazon appstore etc)
