wait theres a power button to turn the phone on and off which also resets it, and holding the end call button also turns it off.

theres more physical buttons to switch the phone off than there are to take a picture

the only people other than blackberry who believed that not using much data (and also not really being able to do much) was a killer feature were massive corporates who were locked into some utter poo poo plans.

when you can get your employees iphones with decent amounts of data on a business plan for £1 a day then who the gently caress cares about blackberry

one of our guys at work is being sent on a bunch of bes courses to renew his existing old as gently caress bes certifications that he got back when people actually used it. this is because someone in sales has sniffed an opportunity to sell new bes to a client that still uses blackberry phones. nobody thinks that a company cheap enough to still be on blackberry is going to nickel and dime on costs of work.

also i don't think they did much to get carriers pushing data, they were building edge only devices and telling everyone how great their low data usage was way past the point it became obvious they had lost their market.

Pinterest Mom posted:

Rather than announcing its first Android phone, BlackBerry has taken the odd strategy of just letting every detail about the device leak out and then casually referencing it in an official capacity every now and then. The latest detail to leak out is the phone's pricing, which apparently comes in at $749. The information was published along with the phone's specs on a preorder page that went up prematurely on BlackBerry's site last night. Android Central caught the listing while it was live, and it says that $749 is the phone's US price, with its Canadian price coming in at $949.
