I feel the one hour window really works against the game. Sure, it's ok to drop in for a lunchbreak, but I just started getting put in charge of something when it was time to say "later".

If you're willing to stick with it, I think you'll find that it's a very rewarding experience if you're into the more creative aspects of role playing games, rather than a constant hack and slash.
Come on, don't strawman me. There's a difference between "let's kill everything in the monster manual" and "I'd like to know how I succeed on something". In my three hour games last Sat, we didn't shoot anything, but we tracked werewolves, yelled at each other, practiced frontier psychology and interrogated criminals. A resolution mechanic doesn't have to mean "combat" and you know it.
