The Sharmat posted:Obsidian's Oblivion was the vanilla campaign of Neverwinter Nights 2. But unlike Bethesda it didn't signal a creative death spiral and just turned out to be an anomaly. NWN2 was p decent tho? I wouldnt put it in the same category as shitass bitchshow Oblibion

ya, that's what i'm talking about. sure, if you compare it to the loving amazing motb it kinda sucks, but its a decent game on its own. i've played it recently for the first time and it was ok.

honestly idg how can anyone look at other games in the series and not think that morrowind was a giant fluke that has zero chance of ever happening again. every game since has been pushing to imitate lotr as close as possible, every even remotely interesting piece of lore has been retconned or ignored. because see, what people want from fantasy is wander around european deciduous forests and shoot fireballs at dragons (tbh, that's probably what people actually want).

Pyandonea has the potential of being morrowind 2, since its an island populated by weird elves ruled by an immortal god-king. or maybe Morrowind during the war of the first council (playable dwemer anyone?). or something based on Kirkbride's 5th era stuff with time travelling cyberelves and fantasy space exploration. or do something interesting with argonians, who're supposed to be these sexually ambiguous weirdos perpetually high on sentient tree sap. But lol, never gonna happen The Sharmat posted:I think Morrowind 2 would just see Bethesda poorly aping the most shallow characteristics of the setting (giant bugs and mushrooms everywhere) while totally missing what really made it good in the first place. so basically, dragonborn dlc: the game

uhh, gee, idunno, maybe carry some restore str potions next time, or learn the spell? or maybe just divine out of there and restore at an altar??? if you're high enough level to encounter bonewalkers regularly, this shouldn't ome as suprise to you if you want to make potions then put some points in alchemy, mystery solved. up to around 30 you aint makin poo poo tho i agree that marksmanship is kinda useless in morrowind

holy crap I forgot how lovely Tel Uvirith is. is there a decent, not overblown mod that adds some shelves or something to the interior?
|
# ¿ Sep 1, 2014 18:11 |
|
The Sharmat posted:my only problem with Tel Uvirith is that there's no fast travel from it and it's in the middle of nowhere. If it had a silt strider it would be perfect. They should have added a quest to get fast travel to the strongholds. Like a boat on the Odai river for the Hlaalu one, a silt strider for the Redoran one, and some kinda magic teleport thingy to Sadrith Mora or something for Telvanni. I honestly don't mind lack of fast travel that much. I set up a permanent mark in the lower bedroom and that's pretty much enough for me. I just want some place to put my ancient tomes and glowing swords that's not the floor. There's one shelf and like two tables in the entire magical stronghold of a big important Telvanni wizard, for Vivec's sake.

I remember reading somewhere that if you do enough of those randomized thief guild quests in skyrim something is supposed to happen, but gently caress doing that poo poo. I did one of each type and it was mindnumbingly boring, much like the rest of the game.

ok, so after reading the questline summary on uesp, the rewards for doing the random jobs are kinda neat. I forgot there are some unique items to steal that will be displayed in the hideout. New people will join, better furniture, trophies, crown of barenziah. Too bad that to unlock all this, you need to do over a hundred of these jobs who in their right mind would bother with that. good idea, retarded execution

that's for the recruits, you get trophies every ten jobs up to 75, and then a safe at 125

also morrowind graphic extender if you want to play in anything bigger than 1024x768 probably some noglow, better heads, bodies and clothes if you dont want to gouge your eyes out chocolate pack is a good compilation of cosmetic and small balance / improvements mods, just watch out for GCD because it changes the leveling system, so turn it off if you dont like that
