Mad still made money, afaik, so they cancelled everything but mad and mad is all that was left when they got bought by the people who eventually bought DC which means that DC now sorta owns Mad. Was Cyclops being a loser part of the original X-men series or a Claremont thing or is it just a case that the other X-Men becoming cooler and he was just blander by comparison and they leaned into it?
