SXSW 2014 SUBMIT STARTER PACK
Celebrate the one-year anniversary of ComiXology Submit with 100 of the top books the program has to offer all for only ten bucks! Including works from Joshua Hale Fialkov, Becky Cloonan, Shannon Wheeler, Rachel Deering, Douglas Rushkoff, Tom Scioli, Kel Macdonald, Joe Infurnari, Jake Parker and Fabian Rangel, Jr. Available until March 10th, 11pm EST.

Before I go and drop $10 on "$330 worth of content", are these actually any good? Am I going to have to sift through a whole lot of filler to get some good comics, and even these, are they likely to be first issues only? Put another way, am I paying $10 for 100 comics that will likely clutter my collection page and essentially it's a $10 sampler?

Carrying on with the Spider-Man stuff, I am thinking of buying Spider Island because the price is so good... but this isn't horribad like Big Time, is it?

While we are at it, is there anything else here you recommend?
Only one on sale that I own is Batman Court of Owls.

Thanks. I am gonna hold off on Animal Man but I will jump on Action Comics and The Flash. Anything I need to know before I read these volumes?

And what about that Spider-Man graphic novel? The price is so good for that much comic that I am very tempted. $3.99 for a 389 page comic seems good - as long as it is not utter poo poo.

Grrrrrrrr OK so I will try Wonder Woman then. I have never read it before - is this a decent starting place? I am a low budget, casual comics reader so I won't be buying complete collections or anything.

Who is the intended audience for this?

If one liked the movies Labrynth and Dark Crystal, and one liked comics and stories being told, then is this one to pick up at this price?

Is this a decent place to start with Guardians of the Galaxy?

Going to watch it on Thursday, wanted some background before then, not scared of spending $20-30 if you guys can suggest something I can plough through before then so I can go into the movie a little more than blind? (So far my experience with Guardians of the Galaxy is playing a bit of Rocket Raccoon in Marvel vs Capcom 3).

Yeah, just be able to take more away that would come with being at least a little familiar with the comics and the background...

This bundle?

Thanks - one more thing, does that include the content in my first link?

This is my first link :)

I'm curious if the bundle #1-25 incorporates all of the other link's content? Ie, the 1-6 in the other is the first 6 in this 25 bundle?

No one is trying to talk him out of reading comics, just saying that you don't NEED to read any to understand a movie.

Of course - hahaha oh SA forums, you are amazing. "Need" in order to understand was never mentioned.

One says you don't need any, and one is a joke..?

Anyway, gonna get me that collection on Comixology - thanks for the suggestion, guys.

Hey guys. Just how far back do I need to go to get the most out of House of M?

I bought it on Comixology, now by far my main source of comics, on sale along with a couple others not really knowing what I was getting myself in for.

I've Googled for some suggested reading orders or to find out what is skippable and I think there's a lot of assumed knowledge. I've never been properly into X Men and I put off reading Avengers Disassembled et al as a result of not owning enough of the comics yet, but wouldn't mind getting into this even if it means buying a few more collected editions or trade paperbacks (digitally anyway) if there's a good beginning and end and I can enjoy an epic story or two along the way.

Any suggestions?

I thought there was a ton of back story and it was a major event with loads of comics and tpb's spinning out of it...? Maybe what I'll do when I get home later is post the x men and avengers I do own and you guys can suggest a reading order, or one or two purchases that would enrich the experience? I have 15 hours of flights on Thursday and Friday and look forward to diving into this...
