 Unless your grounds for saying Sonnen struck first in that fight is pushing away the man who was swinging his hands at him, he ducked under a right hand right from Silva right before taking him down and I'm pretty sure 'he tried to hit me but I didn't let him' doesn't particularly mitigate the fact 'he was trying to hit me'.
