I do recommend reading through the manga, mainly because Marika is awesome I'm totally not biased, honest! and she's yet to make her appearance in the anime thus far. You're pretty spot-on that there isn't much plot development though, but it's an amusing read. Nisekoi is quite regularly referred to as 'blush porn'.

If you have poo poo taste like myself and enjoy harems with all the comedy, misunderstandings™ and fan shipping that it brings then you'll likely enjoy the manga. Shaft have done a surprisingly good job of it so far, particularly the bus scene in the most recent episode the engrish for 'curb' was that good.

And hell I've suffered through (and still am) Hayate. Nisekoi's toying around with plot development is nothing compared to that. A pretty cute show and added Shaft visuals makes it a pretty fun show to watch

I'm surprised that Hayate has gone on as long as it has, given that it's had more filler arcs than Beach (at least Hata can draw backgrounds). Nisekoi has not a lot of plot but there's been some heavily hinted development in the past couple of months regarding Marika including some new deathflags, as if she hasn't had enough already. There appears to be a big secret she's hiding, so it's possible she knows who has the real key to Raku's pendant

They're minor and red herrings, but the flags are there nonetheless. Her assistant (Honda) is always harping on about how she'll be in serious poo poo if she were to push herself too hard, and she's been a lot more energetic in recent chapters. Especially with the amusement park date where Mikage was subtly asking Honda about Marika's health issues. Face it, it's not normal to have someone watching over you all the time because of medical reasons

Here's to hoping that next episode will be her time to shine

I'm finding Hayate more enjoyable now that Ayumu and Hina are getting more presence, but it'd be nice for the the idiot trio to make some more appearances. Nisekoi has it's moments too, but they're mostly Marika's comic relief chapters*
The faces are great, hence the 'blush porn' tag that it occasionally gets.

Spot on, except Tsugumi was fifth. Ruri stole 4th place ahead of her.

It looks like Marika will appear at long last in episode 12 or 13 depending on whether they rush or draw out the chapters where they go through the field trip photos and Chitoke greaking he lock on Raku's pendant

You know, that makes a ton of sense and I wouldn't be surprised if SHAFT themselves admit that this is the full intention behind their animation. It certainly draws enough attention and differentiates them from other studios, which could be another alterior motive behind SHAFT doing SHAFT things.

Next week, gentlemen. Next week is the time for my fellow Marikabros to rejoice!
At first I wasn't sure about Kana Asumi as her VA, but it's pretty fitting considering a lot of her previous major roles are girls who are far from why about their affections (like Nyaruko, Chihiro, Mio, etc.) and she's done some good work in the past in her less genki roles.

I'll have to hold my final judgement for ep14 but even in the worst case scenario, I doubt I'll be as disappointed as I was with Yaya's VA from Machine Doll.

The raw for ch.118 is out, and it looks like poo poo's getting real.

Whoever the new girl is, Marika knows her. From my understanding, new girl appears to be a relative of Raku's (most likely his cousin, Japanese love using cousins as love interests). Looks like we're in for some actual plot development this arc!

The author is pretty much a master of teasing plot development ("I love you." *chapter break* "ZZZZZ OH WHAT I WAS ASLEEP") so I kind of doubt it.

True, but this chapter is definitely going to stir up the status quo. It'd be kinda interesting if Shuu started to fall for the new girl just as Ruri starts warking up to him. The series needs to do a bit more with those two. Those few chapters from last month didn't give either of them all that much character development.

Why is the anime so drat amusing? I hope the sales are good enough for a S2, considering Log Horizon's already got one planned for late this year and it stagnated hard after the first 8ish episodes.

If Marika's improving your opinion of the show, then you should really check out the manga. The anime has just covered chapter 33 so you could probably start reading from then on as you won't have missed much (I don't recall any major plot points/funny chapters that the anime has skipped yet), and there's some pretty great Marika chapters later on.

One of the theories is that Shuu naturally has black hair, and as a kid he handed out keys and promises to a whole bunch of girls so that he could troll the poo poo out of Raku in highschool.
Given how crafty he is, I would not be surprised but this is a generic harem.

Well, I have my doubts about this, because I feel like Marika's reaction was explained in this chapter (Yui constantly embarrassing her) but if it were to be the case...

I wouldn't call it the worst plot development, because this whole promised girl thing is ridiculous anyway so it's not like we're hitting a new low, but if Raku still picked Yui as promised girl over Chitoge, who has had the most straight up -romantic- development, or Onodera, who is the most normal of the key girls, and yes, or Marika, who apparently has been in love for like a decade and is considerably more interesting than her cliche role would normally imply, it'd be extremely unbelievable.

...although, having Einander bring it up, the thought of Haru ending is actually kind of amusing. Breaking away from all this baggage to go make desserts together.

You mean going to make desserts that don't taste like rear end. Minidera is a lot more interesting than her sister, but I'd be satisfied with anything other than an Onodera/Chitoge/status quo ending. I did see Marika's reaction as being a lot more extreme than "Oh poo poo, I really don't like dealing with this person", but we'll have to see how this arc pans out. Curse you, Nomi Kaoshi!

Just remember, even TWGOK (of all series) ended with Keima picking a girl. There's hope for the harem genre yet!

At the rate it's going, Marika might scrape in ahead of Onodera for top spot, or at least make it very close.

Edit: I predict Yui will make it to about 4th quite easily. Just behind Chitoge but above Tsugumi and Ruri.

He started just doing whatever after a short while because DBZ got far too big for what he wanted. Long, drawn out fights and stupidly-OTT powerlevels constantly jumping ever higher was an attempt to shake the hardcore fans but they loved it even more. He wanted to start up on other manga ideas and he even wanted to dabble in video games (like how he did the illustrations and designs for Dragonquest) but because of editorial pressure he had to persist with the Dragon Ball franchise. I think he wanted Dragon Ball to end after Vegeta and Nappa were beaten on Earth, from memory. Krursk knows the full story if you ever spot him around the forums.
