I was gonna ask if this is based on the movie of the same name, but as far as I can tell from the trailer the answer is yes.

How are they expanding what's like a two hour movie into an entire series? Incidentally, you can rent the film on Netflix if you're interested.

edit: Wait, is it the the case that the manga came first, and the movie was based on that? This is blowing my mind.
