If this was a plot for a call of duty game people would say it was trite.

There was an Iraq war in the 20th century. She's not referring to it, but I could see how someone might get confused.

It's also a little early (and presumptuous) to call the most catastrophic war of the 21st century.

I'm sure that "I'm trans" is a fairly popular way to introduce yourself in prison. If you could avoid getting the poo poo beat out of you and have a really scary dude for a boyfriend, or be some kind of avenging transsexual black widow.

Mention a transsexual and this place just starts oozing the loving charm. Although if I were legit transitioning and poor as gently caress I would be furious that this dude breaks some of the most serious laws we have and gets his transition gratis c/o the US government. Really, the dude flew off the handle about how bad the government was treating him and now they're not only covering his transition, they even transferred him. It's not like he earned his hero status anyway, he released every thing he could find without regard for where it came from, what it was about, or who it could possibly hurt. He was having a lovely deployment, acted out, and it's almost certainly cost lives. It wasn't brave, it was catty and petulant. He hosed up and he deserves to be in prison. People, good people (and let's be honest, probably some real assholes too) died because of this fucker. His one life spent in prison cannot un-do the ones who didn't get to come back. gently caress Bradley Manning. gently caress Chelsea Manning. gently caress disabled CD burners. gently caress all of them.

Someone watched the speech at West Point and had never heard of the concept of a soldier before. "Look at how long he's spoken, and they just stand there, stone faced and silent! Why, they must despise him! They haven't cheered or clapped or given ONE standing ovation!" when in reality those kids are probably terrified that they'll sneeze while the president's talking and have been authorized applause at the end ONLY.

I've heard people say that his status as a POW is over rated because it was a direct result of him not being a very good pilot and getting shot down all the time. I've never flown a plane into combat nor known anyone who has, so I have no idea if that story has any validity to it at all.

Firearms aren't magic, you actually have to know what you're doing, like a soldier, or an off-duty cop, or (apparently) a maniac who's crazy enough to look up how to do it on the internet.

Why yes, I'm sure a caliphate would be a lovely system of government to live and work under. It's really frustrating to see people say that we never should have left Iraq.

By the time 2016 rolls around the media are going to be dying for someone to pit against Hilary. We got both primaries this time, it's been a while. Of course, one seems like a foregone conclusion and the other one seems like a train wreck, but still, gotta find that narrative in there somewhere.
