Just finished up a 15 hour shift, went out with a traffic unit for a bit of a change. Driving down a duel carriageway in a fully marked up 4x4 and some car cuts us up, we slam the anchors on and the driver has the cheek to pull up beside us and make the 'wanker' sign at the uniformed driver. He get's pulled, police driver asks this guy if he's been drinking, the reply is "wind your neck in you oval office" He is clearly wasted but can still walk normally Get him back to the station He blows a 172...

Someone tried to "swat" us yesterday. Helpful hint: people who just murdered their entire family and call to say they're afraid they might hurt themselves, they don't typically use skype to call dispatch. They also rarely have a group of giggling teenagers in the background. The English language can be pretty cool sometimes

It's also been used a lot by grown loving adults against people they don't like politically or whatever, in hopes the cops will see red, just barge in and shoot them or their kids. I don't think it's happened yet but there have been close calls. Some guys have been hit repeatedly even after basically asking 911 dispatch to put them on the 'don't send SWAT here' list. It's pretty lovely.

It's unusual and interesting to listen to. I hear it all the time and get so confused because I feel like my voice and mannerisms are relatively normal for a Californian. (Of course that's what I know and grew up with so it's completely normal for me.) An English or Australian accent though almost always draws me to listen more closely to somebody because I love hearing it.
