Thank god for Google Voice.

I just looked this up, looks like just a forwarding service... is there a way to send these calls directly to the text based voice mail where it doesn't actually ring your phone?

Yes. You can also call out and text out from your regular phone and have it show up as your google number. You can set personalized voicemail greetings, block calls, send directly to voicemail and a bunch of other poo poo.

Seems pretty cool.... How is this free? I see a $0.00 balance on my account, is that just for international calls?

There's another company that advertises on podcasts all the time "E-Voice" which charges for all these same services.

It's free cause it's google and they're likely looking at the data for analytics/ads. And yes, the balance is for calling/texting to int'l numbers. It's a great service if you put a bit of time into it and set it up within the US. Also if you travel a lot (or live outside the US like me) you can port your number to google voice and have it call forward to any mobile number you want.

guy's still carrying 92s are the weirdest.

we carry whatever we want from an approved list (anything that isn't crap). There was talk recently of issueing all the swat guys glock 35s just to have the interchangeable magazines but nothing ever came of it.

In other news I wrote a big rear end check today, down payment on a lot/construction loan. If I suddenly stop posting it's cause I'm busy pulling my hair out for the next 7-8 months & am now poor.

Are off duty details paid through your departments payroll or do you get 1099s from like a dozen different companies every January? Our payroll refuses to process the extra paperwork so anything off duty makes filing your taxes that much harder... not to mention most people don't set anything aside and end up having to pay uncle sam instead of getting a fat refund like me.

THANKS OBAMA
