Um, I apparently glitched the game pretty bad. The Goddess Warp/EZ Retry don't work any more (everything's blank) and I can't switch back to Judgement 30 or whatever the second chapter is called because selecting Story Mode plops me back down where I was replaying a map in Overture 30 last night.

It looks like it either has something to do with changing the character names under the options menu or creating custom map? On the custom map I put the third hero as the 1P and now some of his base equipment is in my character's inventory...

That's odd, I don't have that quest either! Must be a secret one somewhere.

I just discovered a casino in this game. The only method of earning casino tokens is through a slot machine. You will eventually earn tokens, but it takes a long time to get enough tokens for all the good prizes. :suicide:

It's kind of a pain in the rear end to have to go back to town to reset monster spawns, but it's still better than having to perfect the technique of running back and forth in the correct row of pixels to farm XP. The global stuff is still weird to me, but I guess its nice to be able to grind outside of missions to make missions slightly easier.

Bullwood in chapter 2 or whatever you wanna call it took me several tries. That's never happened before :negative:

Also the island jumping quest before it villagers kept mentioning a bird man but uh, I cleared every tower and never met anyone. Is there any way to replay missions?

Yeah Bullwood was pretty tedious, it took me a while to figure out that he actually retains damage taken between resets. You should be able to replay the mission through any goddess statue while in global mode. It's called EZ RETRY mode or something for some reason.

If anyone else is a total :spergin: like me and wants to collect all weapon skills even though they're kinda pointless, the best way to grind them I've found so far is to constantly repeat the Two Princesses quest and do the Hunt Monsters job over and over. The large amount of enemies with high defenses leads to me always getting 4-5 activations at the very least, even for the mage weapons.

It's called EZ Retry because unlike the Hero 30 mode in the first game, you can bring in equipment and party members from the future, and you keep your global level. There is a Time Trial Mode on the main menu that let's you do these quests from scratch.

Echoing the love for the music, it's pretty good. I hope there's a music player in this game too.

Time Attack mode actually lets you use any equipment and classes you've gotten in the campaign, even from later quests. I don't know if that's intentional or not, but there doesn't seem to be any difference between Time Attack and EZ Retry right now.

How on EARTH do you beat Zozo in the final level of chapter 2? I put out the fires with the castle but they light right back up by the time I get to him and I'm forced to restart because neither of us are doing enough damage to each other.

The longer you ride the castle the faster it goes so just try and put out as many as you can before fighting him. I know for a fact you don't have to put them all out because I got two different messages from retrying.

I had no trouble with him. Recruit the Mage, recruit the Old Swordsman, level up to about 25-30 (til none of the monsters around there give you trouble) and then ram your castle into him?

Does putting out the fires actually do something when fighting him? I just walked over them to get the Old Swordsman, then ignored the rest. Does it give you a Title or something?

They deal extra damage/ensure knockbacks (I think?). If they're triggered when your HP is at critical, a Hero Chain will happen where several (all?) of your allies will activate their special attacks at the same time/in a row. It'ss kind of nice because the timer doesn't go down while special attacks are happening, but I mean it's unlikely you'll be in a situation where that's gonna determine the winner.

Did you upgrade your castle so you can stack two castles on top of each other? That basically doubles your attack power and Zozo was no problem for me.

Just Ignore: Don't kill the gold slime for cash, just grind on trees to get cash for the castle part.
Don't Touch: Defeat Bullwood without using a single cannon ball. Damage on her stays through time resets.
Repeating over and over: Keep falling down holes. Takes an annoying amount of holes to stick.
Keep going even if you lose: Run into the Ultimate King a couple of times before grabbing the Hero Sword.

There's a dude where you fought the first Grimo. Dunno when he shows up, though.

There's a couple titles I cannot figure out so far, though. Seize it in Q10, Go there and back in Q11 and Forget Registration in Q28. None of my ideas worked out so far, and the last one makes no sense to me to begin with.

Edit: Hero 30 Rebellion is so much more what I expected out of a Hero 30 game with a proper story. Yusha is just such a terrible character to start the game with, I'm pretty sure he's meant to be a parody of sorts of PS1/PS2 era moody protagonists, but it's played so straight he might as well be the love child of Sephiroth and Squall in a game otherwise full of goofy characters.

Thanks for the help, and luckily I can help you out since I have all of those.

Seize it: Go through the process of making the sword, but don't give it to the guy. Instead, go and kill the boss with it.

Go there and back: Get to the top of one of the towers, then climb back down the other one.

Forget Registration: Get three out of four items and go fight the boss, I think. The way I did it was to get everything but the dress, but I got the fish anyways. I dunno if that matters.

Those two aren't working for me. I managed to figure out the first one, you just have to keep using warps to get Warp Lover.

What title do you get for Forget Registration? The titles usually give away the process of getting them.

Edit: You get the title for getting the fish but not giving it to the old guy. I just can't wrap my head around "do a side-quest halfway but fail to finish it" titles.

Actually, I just figured this out. The more enemies the Hero Castle runs over, the faster and harder it hits. So run over a bunch of small enemies, then go straight for Zozo, you should be able to beat him.

I was happy to see that the goofy tone was still there. The first two scenarios are played so straight, that it's not really a good intro to something that's supposed to be a sequel to HMH.

I like to think he's a parody. He's a surly dude in a world where one of your first bosses is a loving horse-elemental dragon. Even the Time Goddess straight-up calls him emo at one point. Literally every other character (except one) would fit into the first HMH no problem, it's just that Yusha demands so much attention from the player you suddenly fear HMH is a super-serious melodramatic RPG instead of a fast, fun-loving RPG you wanted out of it.
