Yeah, I love the scrolling background, but so many of my Apps dont have theme aware live tiles so ive had to resort to pinning all the system apps to get the effect. I hope developers are quick about updating to 8.1.

That's a good point. Perhaps the best option would be to allow the user to edit live tiles. Like Oblytile for Windows 8.
