I think doing a 401k loan to wipe out massive debt while the markets are at all time highs at the 5 year mark in a bull market with QE ending in Nov '14 and credit markets strained at an all time high isn't such a bad idea TBH. Kind of like taking a loan out in late 2007 and paying it back through 2008 / 2009 and catching another wave of goodness.
