So New Japan's history with American promotions looks something like:

1978-1985: WWE
1989-1990: AWA
1992-1993: WCW
1993-1994: WWE
1995-2000: WCW
2008-2011: TNA
2013-2014: NWA
2014-2014: ROH
2015: GFW

From a new interview with John Morrison:

On TNA and Global Force Wrestling: I’m booked to wrestle Jeff Jarrett on December 6th, might talk a little talk about Global Force. TNA & I have had talks, I live in LA, Florida is far. Wrestling is a business, the more promotions the better, more opportunities for wrestlers to work. Both of those companies could be fun to work with. Right now I’m signed with Lucha Underground and I’m happy with where I’m at. Backstage is great, no drama, great shows, great people involved, and in my hometown of Los Angeles.

So the first US taping is 12/6 in Florida?

I wonder if Universal Studios has Joined The Force

JARRETT IN BALTIMORE YESTERDAY, WHO HE MET WITH

Jeff Jarrett was in Baltimore, Maryland yesterday, meeting with Ring of Honor head Joe Koff. The nature of the meetings is currently unknown.

Jarrett's GFW company is scheduled to distribute the 1/4/15 New Japan WrestleKingdom Tokyo Dome event. ROH talents have been working NJPW tours, so it may have been in relation to whether ROH talents could appear on the 1/4 PPV or another matter entirely.

PWInsider.com has reached out to both Jarrett and Koff for comment.

lol if Jarrett can't have any NJPW matches featuring ROH talent on his PPV

GFW LAS VEGAS BOUND?

By Mike Johnson on 2014-10-23 14:15:28

Sources close to the Jeff Jarrett Global Force Wrestling promotion, which will distribute the 1/4 NJPW Tokyo Dome PPV as it is still seeking out television partners, is looking to Las Vegas as it's likely TV taping home.

The promotion is currently in negotiations with three different venues to partner with them to host potential TV tapings and live events, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

GFW was officially announced the day after Wrestlemania 30 by Jeff Jarrett, who departed TNA in order to found the new promotion and build it from scratch. Since then, the promotion has signed agreements with a number of international promotions but has yet to sign any talents to contracts.

If they could run major wrestling shows every few months at the MGM Grand like they do for boxing, they might be on to something.

But I expect they'll be running casino banquet halls or something lame.

Jeff Jarrett's budget promotion is not going to run TV tapings in a major arena. Especially not the MGM Grand, doing so would be suicide.

If they run there once or twice a year, and did the TV tapings at a casino...it could work.

They'd need some big name American wrestlers to generate a buzz, though. Punk would qualify.

vince tried his damnedest to replace jr at every opportunity, including trying to get mike goldberg to switch to wwe over a weekend and show up to raw. as this will be a ppv targeting unfamiliar americans, mike tenay would be such a better choice.

Or keep Tenay on as the third-wheel to add background information when needed like he used to do on Nitro.

Jim Ross/Jim Cornette/Mike Tenay would be awesome. I'm imagining Cornette getting pissed off at Tenay and his history lessons.

Is Jarrett actually going to pay for JR to fly over and be ringside at the show, or will he be doing voice overs in a US studio?

JR and Punk doing ringside commentary, and then Punk staring down whoever the champion is at the end of the night would be fantastic

I remember when the Ballpark Brawl shows happened every year in Buffalo, they gradually realized that having the ring on the infield diamond was retarded because the fans were too far away. Then they moved it to the outfield next to the 1st-base wall and things were much better. The last show they did in 2007 was moved to a back parking lot since the field was too wet, and that was AMAZING since everyone was packed into a small area and having fun.

So yeah - if you can't actually fill the stadium, just set the ring up somewhere on the concourse and make the fans move there instead of using the baseball field.

And of course the first Ballpark Brawl show in 2003 was also the first-ever TNA house show:
