Related: are male porn stars turned on by absolutely everything, or is there just routine reliance on erection drugs? Also how far in advance do they know what they're shooting? Is it ever a case where a dude shows up and gets told he's doing some crazy fetish thing that is pretty gross to like 99.9% of people, and if so, do they ever refuse?

I would imagine that most seriously niche performers are pretty insulated from the mainstream pool, and would in any case be informed in advance if anything out of the ordinary was going to be expected.

As cucking and stuff has become more ubiquitous and home made porn is readily available on the internet now, do you feel that this is negatively impacting the industry in real dollars? Its clear that the industry is trying to replicate this scenario on tube sites and new content, but what about the stuff people are doing on their own at home? Is that crowding out the pro stuff?

a sick day in bed watching lots of porn reminded me of this thread! Do you know much or anything about the company behind Crash Pad Series? It's one of the few porn sites I have gotten a paid sub to (and most of the porn I watch is hetero). Have any of the girls you've worked with mentioned it or worked with them? I love it because the girl girl sex is so real compared to some of the mainstream lesbian porn (I know most porn is fantasy, but the mainstream lez videos compared to videos like crash pad are like night and day). With them being located in the Bay Area, I'm surprised I don't see many mainstream porn stars wanting to do a cameo or something with them Kaini Industries fucked around with this message at 22:39 on Mar 9, 2015 |

How come the dudes in porn films are almost always old, covered in tattoos, and mostly bald with bleached hair gel'd to stick in some strange direction? Seems like the only normal-looking guy I've seen is James Deen, but even he still isn't actually conventionally attractive. But I read that he almost had trouble getting started because he didn't look a typical male porn dude, which makes me think that these other guys are actually sought out for some reason.

I remember reading an article on James' success and they argued that with a few exceptions most top Hollywood actors are not conventionally handsome. Dudes like Tom Cruise, Liam Neeson and Will Smith or even Leonardo DiCaprio as he got older and became less conventionally attractive. So not sure if anyone read but the top porn actor in Japan made like $780K last year boning ladies on camera. He compared male Japanese actors as rare as white tigers. Is there a similar situation in the US? What can be the reasons that drive women to pick up the profession but not men? I imagine it is the similar case in the US as I see the same actors over and over again.

It is exceedingly difficult to not only get an erection on command in front of a room full of people, but also maintain it while contorting your body into a bunch of odd positions that might not be the most comfortable positions all the while trying to not get off until the right time while a professional sex worker fucks you. It isn't an easy job at all. The vast majority of men can't do it.

How does OSHA come into play in the adult film industry, if at all? I knowit was stated that all actors are contract labor but exposure to bodily fluids is a workplace hazard. In heavy industry a workplace hazard would require ERP/EAPs and identification of risks. Also, when there are injuries/disease transmission, does that require being reported to OSHA.

How the gently caress is that Cytherea gang rape story not getting any traction? There's been almost no news coverage about it (I think there were two news sites reporting on it when I did a Google search), especially not on any of the big news channels. What the gently caress? Probably one of the vilest rape cases in the US in recent memory, too. It's loving mind-boggling that it'll get swept under the rug like this. edit: here's a quote from a news article about it, since it doesn't seem to be getting any traction in this thread either: quote:An adult woman who was sleeping upstairs was awakened by loud crashes and noise. One of the assailants pushed through the door into her bedroom and put a gun to her head. He repeatedly questioned her: “Where is the safe, bitch? Where is the money? Where is the gold?” The man then walked down the hallway to the children’s bedroom. Smekerman fucked around with this message at 00:26 on Mar 22, 2015 |

Doing the math, there are about 100,000 rapes per year in Nevada alone. In the US, if I did the math right, there are an average of 8000 burglary-plus-rapes per year (source). What they did to her is terrible, but it's not a conspiracy when it doesn't make the national news. Things like that happen every day. 22 times per day.
|
# ? Mar 22, 2015 00:46 |

Not only that, but the assailants were caught, which makes it less likely to get national traction if there isn't some sort of gigantic manhunt for the group.

Actually there were more than three assailants, as one of them actually tried to stop the rape and as soon as he left the room some other guy came in and raped her as well. Or maybe he was the same guy, but then changed his mind 2 minutes later, who knows. Not me, because none of these articles are worth a poo poo because they all have conflicting information and nobody else is seemingly interested in covering this. But I guess when you have 22 rapes per day, your reporters are just too busy to cover an underage, previously-convicted criminal gang rape of someone who was at home with her children.

Not 22 rapes per day. 22 violent rapes committed during burglaries of homes when a resident was home, per day. 822 total sexual assaults per day in the US by the most conservative figures. You're totally right to be shocked and mad, but that reaction should be to the overall problem, not just this one case.

Porn Chat: Manojobs has released two scenes recently starring retired stars- Andi Anderson and a Gianna Michaels. In the write ups it says that both have returned to filming, however those scenes are the only *new* scenes that they've released. I know companies film and sit on scenes for months, but would they sit on them for years? Is Manojobs just an easy enough gig that they might film for an afternoon and cash the cheque before returning to retirement?

I dunno, a hand job would be pretty easy to do compared to a full on sex scene. Have you watched the 50 to 1 series? It's literally just a guy in his office filming girls giving him a blow job. I doubt there is much to it other than a standard contract and one guy with a camera. Probably a quick paycheck for the talent too, just stop in, do the scene, and go.

Figured this would be the perfect place to ask. I'm trying to remember a name of a pornstar. I would say she was semi-famous and did scenes roughly 8-10 years ago. She had a a girl next door look, always with a smile and really nice dimples. Like chipmunk-looking style dimples. Hair was shoulder length, light brunette and alittle bit wavy. she did a few blowbangs and I want to say some interracial. Can anyone guess who that would be?

I thought DP said in the old thread all his equipment added up to about $25k including grip, lights, sound & camera. They used to be pretty ridiculous but Kino light banks can go for $2k each brand new now, they hold value well but you can find them used for a good deal sometimes. DP does a lot more 'cinematic' quality so his kit is probably a bit more complicated. I believe the AA guys just have 2 light banks plus that ringlight.

I'm watching a pretty decent documentary on Showtime right now called "X-Rated: Greatest" which covers a lot of the 70's era stuff and the chic of porn theaters up through the introduction of the VCR, which I think really was what made porn go mainstream. Have you seen this film? It sort of took me back. And if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? What was your first introduction to porn? Magazines, theaters, video tapes, 8mm stag films or what? I remember going through puberty in the late 70's and the best most of us could do was raid the neighborhood dumpster for discarded Playboy and Penthouse mags or root through our dad's private stash and then , Sekabuild a fort in the woods to stash them. Finding them was like discovering gold. Then when I turned 16-18, it was the golden age of VHS movies with girls like Ginger and Amber Lynn, Christy Canyon and Lois Ayers. The 90's was the introduction of the DVD and the rental shops. Nowadays, porn is so readily available and you can find EXACTLY what you want to see at any given time (2 Asian women with tiny tits in red glitterey high heels blowing an uncircumcised black football player with a precisely measured 6.5" dick wearing a clown mask under a waterfall during a thunderstorm). I have a four year old son and wonder how, or if I even should, attempt to limit his access to this stuff as he gets older so I'm curious. Do you have children? If so, do they know what you do for a living? Do you think the simplicity and ease of being able to find porn (and the precise thing you want to see) is a good or a bad thing?

I'd suggest not so much limiting his access/exposure, as he's going to get into it regardless, but rather limit the security risks. That is, make sure he's not doing this on the family computer, where people store important documents/photos and enter sensitive information like SSNs and CC numbers, and where a virus would make things a huge headache. Even now you could buy him a $200 Chromebook, and not only is it unlikely to be infected, it can be easily wiped. (And I highly recommend Chromebooks in general, and I'm posting from one right now, but that's a topic for another thread.) I think that should be your approach to the situation: minimize the potential damage. I know first hand the pain of disinfecting Windows machines for people who don't know how to browse for porn without getting infected.
