Finding them was like discovering gold. Then when I turned 16-18, it was the golden age of VHS movies with girls like Ginger and Amber Lynn, Christy Canyon and Lois Ayers. The 90's was the introduction of the DVD and the rental shops. Nowadays, porn is so readily available and you can find EXACTLY what you want to see at any given time (2 Asian women with tiny tits in red glitterey high heels blowing an uncircumcised black football player with a precisely measured 6.5" dick wearing a clown mask under a waterfall during a thunderstorm).

I have a four year old son and wonder how, or if I even should, attempt to limit his access to this stuff as he gets older so I'm curious. Do you have children? If so, do they know what you do for a living? Do you think the simplicity and ease of being able to find porn (and the precise thing you want to see) is a good or a bad thing?

I don't think you can really limit it. I remember what I was like when I hit my teens, and got internet access. I think the important thing is to teach him respect for women and teach him about normal healthy relationships once he starts seeing this stuff. I have a 3 year old daughter, and it is already preying on my mind, simply because it is so more prevalent and available than it ever has been. I'm going with the honesty is the best policy approach, and hopefully I can teach her to make her own educated choices.

On that subject, it amazes me that we condemn porn so readily, and I do agree that there is some poo poo that just shouldn't be made, but I hate reading about how porn is the devil and is responsible for relationship problems, and especially for teenagers warped attitudes towards relationships and sex. I'm in the UK, and our PM currently seems to have a massive hard-on for trying to get ISP's to block content, rather than trying to get schools and parents to actually loving educate their children. This might be over-simplifying things, but do they not think that the fact we barely talk about sex or relationships to our children is a huge part of the problem? Or maybe because we seem to idolise people like football players and celebrities, who sleep with underage girls, treat women like poo poo, and when they caught, we barely give them a slap on the loving wrist? Or even better, our own police actually cover it up.

Hell, all of that advice makes sense now, in terms of making sure your little kids don't get your Windows machine infected. It has nothing to do with porn.

When I was 4, we didn't have PCs, but I'm assuming nowadays kids probably get started on them at a young age. I still stand by getting him access to a $200 Chromebook instead of letting him go hog wild on any important PCs.

It doesnt say the guy is wanting to buy him one right this second but he is pretty wisely thinking of the future. It may be a few years away yet but its pretty sound advice for anyone with a child to consider having a seperate laptop or netbook so the kid cant do any damage to your stuff.

Hell that advice should apply to 95% of the adult population as well. Always fun when family ask you to fix their lovely HP laptop because its "running slow" and you find god knows how many viruses and :rolleyes:

Porntube gives me some half assed attempt at a virus from time to time on my iPhone. "Your poo poo is locked up please send blah blah blah". Ok sure buddy.

I agree. The family members whose computers I've previously had to nuke all got to that state mostly through torrent sites. Although to be fair, the last time I fixed anything for family was a couple of years ago.

But it's more like, "you got infected because of what you clicked on," particularly with regards to the ads. I could totally see a kid click on a flashing banner ad, whether it says, "Click here for free MMO!" or "You just won $1 Million, click here to claim your prize!" It doesn't even matter whether or not they visit "adult" sites, it basically boils down to how vulnerable the system is and how intelligent the user is.

Yeah I know my son is 4 and it's not an issue YET but he'll be 8 or 10 or 12 before I know it. He's already amazingly computer savvy. I intend to monitor his computer usage and put the safeguards in place and all that. I just think it's an interesting topic to consider since back when I was growing up all Daddy had to was hide the magazines or VCR tapes but now, my God, this stuff is everywhere.

The problem is not porn as a concept but porn as delivered. Nobody wants to see the boring old porn you and your old lady do because you got a bad back and your woman had a long hard day. A kid growing up seeing gang bangs, facial abuse and blown out sphincters might get an unreal concept of what sex is.

Thats why I plan on viewing porn with my kids to explain it all. Nothing could go wrong with my plan.

I don't know about viewing but explaining the difference between porn sex and real sex is certainly worth doing.

There was some talk about the legality of having the site shut down because of it being hosted somewhere in Europe, but I'd like to know if anything ever came of that.

Eastern european (namely czech, polish, hungarian, and bulgarian/romanian) women dominate the European porn world. Dominate might be the wrong term for this, since the actual reason they're successful is due to the combination of low-cost/high-volume. Why? All of the aforementioned nationalities are in the EU, and therefore these people can be anywhere in Europe without a problem, and the wages in their home countries aren't high. While there are often accusations of human trafficking, especially when related to prostitution/escorts, the reality is that if you offer pretty eastern european girl 5-10x the average salary in their country to be a pornstar, you'll eventually find a few. Considering that these women are affordable, white, and exist in volume, it all makes sense.

All of the aforementioned nationalities are in the EU, and therefore these people can be anywhere in Europe without a problem, and the wages in their home countries aren't high. While there are often accusations of human trafficking, especially when related to prostitution/escorts, the reality is that if you offer pretty eastern european girl 5-10x the average salary in their country to be a pornstar, you'll eventually find a few. Considering that these women are affordable, white, and exist in volume, it all makes sense.
