the only reason its bad for google that theyre a utility is that google wont behave like one just like ms wont wisen the gently caress up and be an enterprise service provider. maybe im naive but i think google is a lot more aware of itself than ms is of itself

that said they arent nearly as bad as it gets in the developing world where you get things like "opposite gas station" (india, middle east) or simply [thing] with no number street or anything other than the city (saharan africa)

the weird thing is that with the exception of india former british colonies have probably the most sensible address layouts of anywhere although france and french colonies did a good job too (with the exception of using 9xxxx for every french territory not in france and oh yeah a bunch in france too)

the way play music shuffles is as wrong as it can be and lol no ofc gapless doesnt work what is this 2007?

ClassActionFursuit
Mar 15, 2006

pagoe posted:

does shuffle mean play music in descending order from top to bottom because if it does, it works great. also queue doesnt work. im using play music on ios
the way it used to work was that it would only shuffle from the point of the now playing list it was enabled. like if you had tracks

1
2
3
4
5
6
7 <
8
9

and you hit shuffle it would now be

1
2
3
4
5
6
7 <
9
8

the only way to make it shuffle an entire list was to go into now playing and delete the queue then go to the playlist you want and start it then hit shuffle and live with the first track being first always

theyve since changed it and now it behaves as id expect where hitting shuffle while a playlist is playing reshuffles the queue so that the song playing is first in a list of shuffled tracks and if the playlist is started while shuffle is enabled it will play in a random order (although always starting with the first track)

the thing is that dyp'ers defended this behavior until google fixed it

so tl;dr it works like youd expect now idk why youre having trouble i just tried it a million different ways and it shuffled the way things are supposed to

this is android btw its prob. the old way on ios

i want to preface this by saying i agree with your sarcasm but at the same time a self driving car should prob. have to drive itself the entirety of the test course in order to pass

if a human only needed a more skilled driver to take over twice during their driving test should that be considered passing?
