Have any d2r devs elaborated on why the necro and sin are not in the beta?

I don't think they need to do they? They are focusing the test on other classes

There’s a respec option that involves grinding mats? I thought you only get 3 per character, one per difficulty from Ashara and that’s it

You can farm mats off bosses too

D2:R is basically perfect for me. If they iron out the bugs and fix the latency, probably with East Coast servers, it will be a perfect $40 spent on a lot of gametime.

I'd bet that the reason TCP/IP is gone is that it would let people install on several computers and then play with just one license, like you can now. We're in the future, and we can't have that. Any eventual downside for mods this might have is irrelevant in the face of "someone might play our game without us knowing/getting paid".

it's probably because it makes it much harder to hack

I'm so glad this thread exists to get real info I didn't know without the incel screeching about the Amazon and Assassin's faces

Ah ok, really weird that they need extra time to implement it but that's better than nothing. I guess I'll do a slow casual playthrough to get my nostalgia fix and then hopefully by the time I'm done we'll have ladder functionality.

But yeah that doesn't really bode well in terms of post-launch support lol. Not gonna keep my fingers crossed, but as you said it would be extremely dumb not to add it.

They don't want the ladder to be affected by stability issues or bugs at launch, it's probably not that they need more time.

Obviously anything could happen and it sounds like WC3 was really bad, but they have already talked about ladders and showed screenshots.

I feel like they won't want to gently caress this up with D4 on the horizon and Diablo 2 being a much more iconic game than WC3

I've not followed D2:R too much and I need to know if general drop rate, or at least high tier runes, have been changed or improved in any way over the original. I've been looking for this answer on other sites and couldn't find anything reliably aside from the "no changes" crew flaming wars. Honestly, I think I can't stomach playing a remastered D2 with the same lovely loot treadmill like in the old days without bots or duping.

it's the same, but no duping, so much much lower availability of rare stuff.

Huh, I thought I'd be able to wake up tomorrow to find out if the remaster turned out good or not from people that binged through it overnight but apparently it doesn't launch until like 10 am tomorrow. I thought midnight releases were basically the norm now.

their launch strategy makes sense, 8am PST launch allows their operations teams to work a (long) normal day instead of working starting in the middle of the night when they are less effective
