Going to have to say this. This thing is linear as hell for a story so far. But please take your time and read the stories.

You get drunk, fight what you think is sun wukong, then go hit on a woman who laughs at you, who was probably a dude.

EDIT: The cash shop wall seems like guilds, graffiti and everything else requires it. Not so much leveling up so far. To marry or to divorce requires a cash shop item. We have no idea if you can get these in any other way.

I've gotten to tang/tongs second style. The mana issues start happening then. Meditation and dodging takes stamina. Otherwise you can only use potions or skills to get back health, and maybe just potions for mana.

It looks like we buy our way in or we get 4 level 35+ guys with 150 relation with the leader, then challenge the 10 schools, then claim an area to be in.

So my child slave I got at level 25 runs around like a spastic kid. You can set him to pick up trash for you off of the ground and I have him set up to pick up crafting ingredients from a white list.

Crafting is started at 30, iirc, and you can learn every craft. Not sure how to raise it so far but you have to go to louyang or some other town to use their tools and create items.

Potions are short instant gains in combat, food is long gains out of combat (not sure if you can do it in), and meditate are free short gains out of combat that uses stamina.

Crafting profession are tailoring, smithing, jeweler, herbalism, and cooking. You can learn them all.

You can pay bound coin to raise your skill, not sure if you can do it for free or from crafting. Going to try that soon.

Drink and I are still in CTS but yah, that is pretty much what I am doing. The lost arts I've found as well, which give this game some wushu potential of learning a lot of abilities, but no idea yet.

EDIT: Craft skills are 1 rank per 10 character levels. You can buy up to rank 5. I don't know how you get it beyond that. Drops are pretty much in the area of leveling for your crafting. It looks real easy.

The upgrading part looks harder.

The combat in wushu is better. Easily. But since wushu is a dieing game here I am.

PvP starts at level 31 and so far I've seen plenty of people killing each other at that level.

Since people are mainly on the rails for experience, it is easy to find pvp or start it.

At 35 I got a quest randomly that told me to go kill a world boss. You get 60 minutes and it probably takes a full group. Healing or knowing how to CC the boss helps.

Several times we had to root the boss just so the guy could meditate since he was out of food.

The reward was a blue sack with two items in it, and from the description, it looks like a paint brush and a rag.

We didn't finish it due to people coming to pk us which is alright. That was expected.

Here are the PK modes by the way.

The arena system isn't bad and has rewards.

If I am reading this right, we get coins from arena combat and can spend those to buy scrolls which we can then use to buy skills.

I don't know if we can buy other skills from other schools. Or if you get scrolls from other locations.

The bracket system has a built in betting system.

We will need 3 guild tokens/dragonrise orders.

Oh hey sorry berg. We are sorta using this for two things. Swordsman online beta and age of wushu.

Age of wushu takes like a month or so of having a mentor and doing dailys to level up.

Swordsman online is age of wushu on rails.

Wushu has better combat by far but a lack of people. And to be competitive it takes a month of having a mentor but it jumps you straight to end game. It is ok that way.

Swordsman online is done by perfect world and we really don't know much about it yet. We just formed the guild and are trying things out. You can go either way. The beta lasts for two weeks and there is a link up above for a key.

Shaolin, Wu-tang, Mount Splendor, Mount Infinity, Mount Harmony, Sun and Moon, Five venoms cult, Zephyr, House Tong, and E'mei.

E'mei is male and female
Five venoms is female only
Shaolin is male only

Tong is tang
Sun and Moon is wv
Infinity is scholars, I think, I may have that one wrong

You get a video at level 5 of how they play, but there isn't a good guide of their skills yet.

Wu-tang is an endo or internal tank and Shaolin is an external or exo tank.

Splendor is stable damage and a quick charge, but seems iffy until third set.

Infinity is endo defense and is about counter attacking and counter control.

Harmony use zithers and are melee assassins

Sun and Moon are melee and range and suck blood

Five venoms are control and range

Zephyr are range control, aoe, and counter control. They use a fan and are wizards.

Tong use guns and traps

E'mei are.... attack and defense.

:siren: Guild information :siren:

Each person in the guild has a rank that is assigned to them by the leaders and then a rank based on how much work they have done. The more work you have done the more guild credits you get.

On the guild interface on the top right there is guild gong. Click that and you will see your personal buff that you can raise or respec. This is a good reason to be in a guild cause this is normally 10% more hp and other buffs.

On top of this, 1900-2200 EST there are guild events. We bugged out one today and got another to work by accident. The guild leader can assign 30 people in the guild menu to go. You don't need to be in a group. Just go to the northern part of the guild base.

The rewards are great. Lots of money and exp. And you get items that lead you to small 3 man adventures.

If we want more adventures available, you will need to do the following.

Every day go to Harmony City Outskirts, Harmony Piedmont, Twilight Ridge, and Fa Giu. Find the escort icon on the map and go talk to informants. You can use either lure or force, but the total will be 3 times per npc per day.

This gets us gossip and incidents. We have to have matching pairs to solve them and the stuff we get is random. The more we get from all of you the faster we can solve them and unlock things.

Talk to the Event Agent in the northern part of the guild base to turn in the gossip and incidents.

TLDR Get gossip and incidents, lots of EXP, 1900-2200 EST

The tang of Swordsman online are goofy and are called Tong.

Their sets deal with snaring the enemy and have a few useful escapes. But most of their attacks are skill shots making the action mode control scheme almost required.

You deal with guns, traps, poisons, and then later on, machine guns, flamers, mines, rockets, smoke bombs, and cannons.

Skills are listed here
Sadly no damage info from in the tooltips.

Kettlepip posted:

Ugh, not again. This was one of the (albeit many) reasons I poo poo canned Wushu.

The guild event part is bad. But most other events are every 2 hours for 1 hour with a few exceptions.

EDIT: for example, Daily: The vermin lair. 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700, 1900, 2100, 2300 for 45 minutes each. Appears in random locations around the ten schools.

Daily: Bamboo realm of dreams. 1200-1400, 2000-2200, and there is one earlier in the day but it doesn't show times unless they are in the future.

The dailys / guild stuff fixes that crawl as well.

Hijacking is like 200K if you do a blue one. Escorting is another 150K. Bamboo is like 2 levels. The metal gear kidnapping trio is another 150K or so.

The guild events are even more. If we can get them to work.

Once you hit 40 you get open dungeons with no pvp restrictions or penalties.

So people keep asking how you level up your second set.

At level 50, you will be done leveling up your first set.

Then you get new dailys and some old dailys that give you scrolls that can be used as such.

We don't know if there is a limit on that, but I should hit 50 before the end of beta.

Imagine four 'mechs waiting in a queue. Time works the same way.
We started to look into the guild war stuff today.

We have 3 options. Show of force, force pass, and take station.

Guilds can own land that is not a town and that battle is coming up on sunday. This might be a one time thing.

Take station lets you fight someone for the HQ and we can't do that without an item as well.

Force pass opens a map and I got no idea what that means, maybe we fight to go pass a zone instead of expanding linearly.

Show of force lets us choose a target, beat up two of their npcs to ruin their functions for an hour, and deface their guild standard letting us draw graffiti on their base.

Each team gets 30 people to bring in and that is set in the guild list, no groups needed. We have a medic at spawn that some times works. The guards are level 50 and beat our rear end.

We challenged a guild, made friends with them afterwards, but only got one of their npcs. No rewards for winning or losing.

They lost their feast npc which took away feasts for an hour but they don't even have that function available yet cause of no building.

The game is wushu on rails. It has a graphics set that is characterized like wow.

You level up quickly until 35. At 40 more things open up but it can require some grinding. This is going to be the major problem.

The grinding is solved in guilds with the daily guild events. There are a ton and it is good experience.

The combat is iffy. You got a lot of moves where you stand still. Crowd control is rock paper scissors with its different types. Stamina is used for jumping, running, or blocking. In the pvp arenas this is really important since some moves can be jumped over and some times blocking is really important. But most people won't do this since it leaves you without the ability to move. Wushus combat is faster, more mobile, and has more broken things in it.

We don't really know the effect of levels on pvp yet.

Perfect world has a bad rep but this is perfect world Beijing, so it isn't a normal perfect world game.

The auto pathing system is so good that you won't really know where the hell you are for a long time until you stop using it. Then the map opens up a bit more and open pvp gets better, but the map sizes could be larger.

The quests have a lot of kill 10 bear asses but between those quests are normally something visually that will catch your eye or make you stop to ask what the hell is going on. At one point you get drunk by drinking for like a minute, fight a monkey who you think is sun wukong, and while drunk go hit on someone, then sober up to find out that they are a statue and some old gently caress was laughing at you the entire time.

Then you go get some bear asses.

The skills in the game are a bit more complex.
At level 5 you get your first set.
At level 10 you get your last skill in that set.
At level 20 you get your second set.
At level 25 you get a blank custom set.
At level 40 you get your third set.

Your custom set gets the basic attack of one set and then abilities of any of the others. This makes pvp rather interesting since you don't know exactly what the enemy will have.

At level 50 your first set is at its maximum level. Now you start getting scrolls to level up the other sets as you see fit. Hit harder, have a less of a cool down, or take less power and hit more.

You also have ultimate moves that use 10 bars of your ultimate gauge. You also get advanced moves of things you already have that use ultimate gauge as well.

There are also other skills that drop in parts from events, dungeons, treasure maps, and more. We haven't completed one yet.

There are two advanced classes with lost art skills as well.

None of those skills are in the cash shop. Item forging stuff is and crafting books, but that is all.

The game has enough going on to keep you busy and we don't know everything about this game yet.

Not really. It isn't as smooth or as mobile as wushu but it has merits. Sadly you don't get to see all of this until 20/40 when you get your other sets and try out arenas.
