Another day another UKIP donor embarrassment.

Today's pearls of wisdom include:

- Women shouldn't be allowed to wear trousers because they discourage sex

- Marital rape doesn't exist

Now watch them clean up at the Euros because they're not afraid to speak their mind in-spite of PC and are only saying what everyone's thinking

Also lol
Seems to me like a set of isolated views that are not in line with UKIP's policies or their vision for Britain.

Airports are weird. I don't think all that many people have a couple of beers with their croissant at half five in the morning even in Glasgow, but in the airport lounge today it seems to be the standard breakfast.

Could it be that the EU is to blame??

Holy poo poo.

“Ultimately what this is doing is highlighting the problem we’re trying to raise, which is this company is having to employ Eastern Europeans because they are not allowed to employ people from outside the EU.”
Now I understand. Eastern Europeans are still in the EU and thus too expensive, UKIP want to open the doors to the rest of the world so that they can deliver leaflets for the cheapest price possible.

Ooh, I'm glad you convinced me to watch further actually, because otherwise I'd have missed the bit where they seem to say that they want to do away with MSPs and just occasionally have Westminster MPs go spend the day in Holyrood to vote in a "regional assembly". Also an actual "if they can afford spaceships how can they still need money". They are pro renationalising the post office, railways and health services though, so I guess they're actually better than UKIP.

Just to check, MEPs don't actually have any possible method by which to get the UK out of the EU, do they? Surely that'd be a Parliamentary decision.

I know that deliverychat is a favourite of this thread; today I had a missed delivery where they didn't even bother to show up at my door. I just got a text from Yodel saying "sorry we missed you", and apparently I'm meant to have a card from the courier. I've been sat here all day and of course there's been no van, no knock at the door and certainly no card. I'd call to complain but I don't want to pay them 5p a minute to do so.

It was an order I made through a third party Amazon seller, I've sent them a polite but disgruntled email and will see what the response is. It isn't something I need urgently and I wouldn't actually care if it didn't show up until next week, but it's pretty annoying to be lied to by their courier service.

The government is where taxes are meant to go, and they don't really pocket them. You could say they're misspent or something but pocketing doesn't make sense.

quote:

so why are some of us still in poverty, and why are there not enough jobs to go round?
You pose but don't answer this question, and I think it's an important one. It is correct that immigrants are not the problem, but you could perhaps mention low pay, "apprenticeships" that don't go anywhere, part time and temporary contracts instead of permanent full time employment and so on. I know you point it out later, but this might be a good time to mention that UKIP supports all these practices and more.

Apart from that yeah it's really long and people aren't going to read it, although I understand that you want to address as many things as possible. I'd take out the last paragraph on immigration (UKIP are anti-immigration), last three paragraphs in other (environment, cost of living and racism), it doesn't feel like they add a lot but they do make the thing much longer. Then condense the stuff on Farage into one paragraph and move the stuff on jobs up to where you talk about employment.

His suggestion that the Greens might get an MEP in Scotland is particularly absurd since some proper polls have been done there and the Greens consistently poll below UKIP, the Tories, and Labour's potential third MEP.
Interesting. I'm trying to decide between Green and SNP in Scotland, with the Greens having policies I agree with more and the SNP being the next least worst and probably having a better shot at another MEP. I think I'll probably end up going Green, even if they don't get in I'd rather lend them my support.

Virgin were great for me when I had them years back. We signed up for some thing where you paid line rental plus about two pounds a month for their broadband, and they only ever charged us the two pounds. After calling them up a couple of times to sort it out and never seeing any change we gave up and paid under 50 quid for two years of fast internet.

If you can get that deal I highly recommend it.

Is there any chance that the Tories and Labour will let up a bit on their anti-immigration spiel now? I know that UKIP's rise seems like it would make them redouble their efforts, but nobody would take UKIP the slightest bit seriously if mainstream parties hadn't been blaming all the country's ills on foreigners and the EU for the last few years.

Dance Academy is a lovely building, it's a shame to see it falling apart. I was in JFK's the night it got raided and shut down, came outside and there were police everywhere and they seemed to be fighting and/or arresting half the population of Plymouth. As I recall I dragged my mate away from a punchup and we went to the Dragon Inn for sweet & sour chicken balls, happy days. When I visit now we go out exclusively on North Hill or the Barbican.
