it's a bit early to talk about their demise as they're still planning and running shows and still got renewed by spike. petrosyan, saki, and spong may have gotten a few articles on mma websites but they do jack poo poo for an american tv audience. it's possible they'll scrape by on tv. also the k-1 branded krush are running a tournament soon with some good fighters (including raj sarkeesjan who beat noiri) but are apparently refusing to speak to the chinese part of the company lol

Hahahaha this owns. Those of you who watched the last Koshien tournament might remember that in the middle of a bunch of Japanese high schoolers beating each other up there was a blindingly white guy called Minoru Kimura. Not like a really pale Japanese guy, just a regular white guy. He was jokingly referred to here as Minoru "Steve" Kimura, and now he's Literally being billed as Minoru "Phillip" Kimura. Also he looks like Rory MacDonald fulfilling his autistic potential:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs7kiTbaF1k this video is pretty funny and not work safe. the gist of it is that badr's management offered money to patrice quarteron to take a different fight, even though quarteron isn't very good.

Oh and by the way, the K-1 MAX Final is on Saturday and the stream is going to be free on https://www.k-1.tv Buakaw's management are being stupid dicks about absolutely everything because they were supposed to organise the event but didn't actually have the ability to do so. Here's a copy and paste from Dave Walsh quote:Buakaw's manager Yim was going to help organize the event. Yim doesn't have the knowledge or contacts to organize an event, so K-1 decided instead to work with local officials and businesspeople who could make the event happen. The event will now happen now that these people are involved (look at the July date and put two-and-two together). Also Buakaw reported K-1 to the police yesterday because there's a gambling sponsor on their website. It's loving weird and idiotic. Of course, muay thai and gambling simply wouldn't be seen together. here's the card Buakaw Banchamek vs. Enriko Kehl Paul “Semtex” Daley vs. Mohammad Ghaedibardeh Rungravee Sasiprapa vs. Dennis Puric Andrei Kubelin vs. Lee Sung Hyun Maximo Suarez vs. Tural Bayramov Andre “Dida” Amade vs. Li Yankun Artem Pashporin vs. Petmongkol Thor. Thesputin Xei Lei vs. Yoshimoto

Not watching the stream and am now very upset about that. i didn't watch but from what i'm hearing it was a pretty even fight, an extra round was declared, and buakaw pulled a lebanner, making kehl the improbable champion. i feel bad for the thai company that rescued buakaw from bankruptcy, got him all these sponsors, and helped put this event together but he's a dumbass

kimbo305 posted:Seeing that K-1 Japan card got me wondering what was going on with Noiri. I'd forgotten his name for a bit, and searching for 'triangle boy kickboxing' didn't help. I've been trying to get some answers about this for a while, he got injured and had to pull out of a Krush fight (before the Krush people started the new K-1 Japan thing) and dropped off the face of the earth. No social media stuff, no contract with Glory, nothing announced by Krush, no sign of him at K-1. He just popped up again a week or so ago and will be fighting in December for Krush, but he's only just started training again. So he's probably going to be in with some scrub and I'd expect to see him on a K-1 Japan show next year. edit: also by all accounts it looks like the Shootboxing show was equal parts amazing and infuriating Triticum Guzzler fucked around with this message at 15:03 on Nov 30, 2014 |

Guess who's getting their poo poo together? That's right, it's not Glory, who postponed Glory 19 until some point next year. K-1 signed a broadcast deal with a bunch of Chinese networks. They previously did like 80 million viewers on Hunan TV, and now they've got their next 3 events planned out. January 1st is China vs USA February 1st is China vs Japan March 28th is China vs Thailand Three names so far for team USA are Kevin Ross, Tiffany van Soest (although Lion Fight are apparently not happy about those two) and Andrew Tate, who you might remember fighting Sahak Parparyan in It's Showtime years ago. Interestingly, Gabriel Varga is going to be fighting a Korean on the card even though he's under contract with Glory, they've apparently OK'd it. They also signed Yod.
