http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MKULTRA Back in the 50's, CIA agents wanted to learn how to control peoples' minds, so they dosed a bunch of people with powerful hallucinogens and played sick mind games with them. Some of these people were in mental institutes, others were prostitutes, homeless people or junkies. Some were even government workers suspected of spying. As someone who's experimented with psychedelics and had a handful of bad experiences, I can only imagine how horrifying it would be to suddenly lose your mind for no reason and then have a bunch of G-men interrogate you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Gate_Bridge#Suicides To me, it's unnerving that such an iconic and beautiful landmark draws so many suicidal people. From its opening until 1995, when the media stopped reporting the suicides, 1,000 people took their lives there. But people are still jumping regardless. In 2013, there were 46 deaths and 118 prevented, an unprecedented record. Alpacalips Now has a new favorite as of 16:22 on Jun 2, 2014 |

TheFallenEvincar posted:What if you need some chee chalked? Looks like his chee just got chalked. Content: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Condor I'm from the USA, but never knew the extent of my government's support of South America's brutal right-wing dictators until I visited the countries where it happened. In Argentina, where most of the deaths occurred, political opponents were imprisoned, then their infant children were kidnapped and given to loyalist families. The secret service "disappeared" people by throwing them out of planes alive. Paraguay's dictator, Alfredo Stroessner had the secretary of the communist party dismembered with a chainsaw while he listened to his screams on a phone. This isn't ancient history, either. The Carter and Reagan administrations openly allied with these regimes, and Augusto Pinochet was still Commander-in-Chief of Chile's army in loving 1998. Very few people involved in the terror have faced justice. It's pretty sickening to know that these abuses happened with my government's support. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trepanning Doctors worldwide drilled holes in skulls from at least 6500 BC until well into the modern era. They performed these operations to cure seizures, migraines and mental disorders, and also to remove fragments of fractured skull and pooled blood. To this days, there's wackos who do it as new age medicine. Here's a quote from someone who was really happy to remove part of his skull: quote:After some time there was an ominous sounding schlurp and the sound of bubbling. I drew the trepan out and the gurgling continued. It sounded like air bubbles running under the skull as they were pressed out. I looked at the trepan and there was a bit of bone in it. At last!

Countess Elizabeth Bathory was like a real-life Ramsay Snow. By the time she finally went on trial, she had tortured and killed anywhere from 80 to 650 people. It's disturbing to think of how many sadistic aristocratic fucks must have got away with kidnapping, torture and murder because they killed less people than she did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Countess_Bathory
