Does anyone here go to Dragon Con?
I'm going to perform in the Puppet Slam and I'll be leading a workshop for costumes and puppets and a couple other panels for working professionals and such.

I used to go every year but I skipped last year due to budget and just being burnt out after going for so long. There's an outside chance that I'll go this year because a friend of mine is trying to get me to emcee the return of Iron Artist, but I'm not sure if that's enough to get me to commit.

That is an absolutely incredibly costume.

But, the legs just seem out of place. I know the in-game model has black leggings, too, but on a person with real human proportions, they're a lot more obvious.

I've never played the game, but now that you've pointed it out, it does look a little jarring. I think this might be one of those cases where the extremely faithful recreation of the original costume could have done with some real-world embellishment, like finding some kind of heavily-textured black fabric with a more rustic/medieval look to it...a really thick weave linen or black burlap or something.

It's difficult because the model doesn't have regular human proportions.

He's not fat, he just wear far armour and you can see how short his things thighs are. You're right that burlap dyed black would probably be a great idea because, although a smooth fabric is more authentic, it looks like he's wearing tracksuit pants.

And for a costume that looks that good, you really want to go that little bit extra distance to make it work in the real world.

EDIT: thighs, not things :ughh:

Individuals forced into extreme situations will often begin mimicing stories because they lack any real world context for their experiences.

Symptoms include cosplaying while killing people and claiming the poorly made television show 24 as an excuse for torturing people.

Fine, I'll go up a level of indirection.

"They look like a fool because they're accurately cosplaying a character modelled on some special forces soldiers who look like fools. Their accurate depiction of a character who is accurately depicting a fuckwit is admirable. I make this observation for humour value". BEEP loving BOOP.
