Omg thank you, this is one of the things that took me the longest to figure out how to do. I kept thinking I could use some trick to do it not so grittily and uhh I ended up using... yep just salt. A lot of saltwater. I boiled like a 30% salt mixture and threw saltwater everywhere and it was kind of a weird weekend but it really did end up looking better than anything else I tried.

The devil is in the details and you did drat good!

I especially enjoy the weathering on the weapons, the salt stains and how the cuirass absolutely looks lived in.

Only hover over this next part if you would like some constructive critiscism.
The wig needs to be stringier, like unwashed hair. In other words, you look too clean to be Yara. :v:

Etsy's not a bad idea, I just didn't know if there was some sort of cosplay costuming store somewhere I was unaware of for bare materials. (e.g. big robe with a hood)

Joe Ann Fabrics, craft stores, thrift stores. Those are the big places people get materials for cosplay.

Many costumes are home made and go through several iterations before the cosplayer thinks it is good enough.

Not trying to be a dick, just FYI.

So funny thing, I had a guy ask me if that's what I was last year. I had this elaborate idea that Luke wasn't hiding all these years searching for the Jedi temple, he was on tour! Nobody got it and one guy said "Are you The Dude dressed as Luke?" to which I just replied what a great idea, that's definitely who I am. So yes, that'd be a great cosplay mix.

So, it seems this threads cyclical nature is the middle of the year, summer hours and such.

Look, this post I don't give a gently caress about, ban me you cunts....

The season for cosplay starts around april and rides into august? Is that correct?

I'm fine with it, because it gives me respite for other activities.

Aw gently caress, I'm looking forward to cosplay this year. I think it's gonna be loving great!

It makes sense from a liability standpoint to not let visitors dress up like park employees, even if they don't do a very good job of it. That said, this is a more general ban that prohibits any costuming for adults at Disney parks, even original work or of properties that aren't park mascots (like the Death Star or the house from Up).

Because when you are inside the park part of the draw is the staff dressed up as whatever.

Regular visitors wouldn't be aware that Jeff from Des Moines, dressed up as "Charlie Chaplin", isn't the park mascot for Hitler.

So, gently caress it, just get rid of costumes altogether.
