Either/or on the budget question, but I'm leaning towards having one.

I'm surprised injury-free Gonzalez fell as much as he did. Sure, OF isn't a premium position, but he's up there with McCutchen and Stanton in that group just below Trout.

Really? I don't want to shill the $40 to get a better picture of how good they are in the simulation, but I don't want to get screwed over every time I pick either just because I'm not familiar with how the system values players. He has his flaws, but those are mostly tied to his injury history, and if that isn't a problem, then I'm not seeing where we differ so strongly on our evaluation of him. Out of the top 10 in his position seems really low to me.

Hmm. Welp. Guess I just hosed up that pick then

I THINK we have the same Punto in mind, and I'm not sure if I want to reach for him when my pick comes up soon, or get someone else. I'm really really tempted though.

My plan is basically "at least don't suck at pitching", which is why I've spent 3/4 picks on starters. I'm the Marlins. I have nowhere to go but up.

I've had Minor pegged since Round 3. Is there something in his projections that I don't know about that made him fall this far? Also, gently caress the position players.

Taking a risk here with my Miller pick. Most projection systems loved the guy going into the year, but right now in real life his OPS is sub .500.

Jubs posted:Why did it take so long for Rizzo to get selected? I feel really really fortunate to get him. Seems like there's a pretty big drop off after him when it comes to 1st basemen, and seeing that St. Louis needed one I had to rush to make sure. Also kinda surprised at Jennings's drop. He isn't a world beater, but he's a pretty good leadoff CF considering what's available.

Mornacale posted:All your picks so far are good players. I agree that Machado was a reach, but I like Masterson a lot (more than Holland, in fact). Masterson was picked before Holland so how is that relevant? And I have a feeling I know what Punto is getting referred to. I'm not worried. Holland is a safe reliever choice, and I like his value here in comparison to some of the other late rotation picks being made.

Also how do outfield conversions work? I'd imagine someone who played corner outfield all his life would struggle if switched to CF, but is the downgrade in switching between LF/RF negligible?

That poo poo's funny in a way that unfortunate taxidermy can't even touch. If the owner hadn't pointed it out, I never would have noticed. It was only before my Scutaro pick that I even realized it myself. I decided to check everyone's handedness at that point and my only reaction was "Oh." I guess I'm rolling with it for the most part, although now I've kinda forced my own hand in what bench players I need to go after.
