there was a GM survey after the NCAA season where like 57% of them said they would take Parker first. I dont have the link offhand but its mildly disturbing that these people are allowed to run NBA franchises. I dont think there's a huge difference in the level they're currently at (Parker is a better scorer, Wiggins are far superior defender), but Wiggins potential is just off the charts comparatively. The only place Jabari #1 makes sense for me is Utah, for *mormon reasons*

By most accounts it's pretty bad. Probably better than MCW, but bad enough that it's an issue for him as a prospect. And come on, it's not like you've seen him play either.

just watched the drills from a year ago and the fiba's, but his form's not hideously broken. I don't think it will ever be a strength for him, but he could easily be decent for a PG with a little tuning (his footwork is weird and he leans into his shots too much)

Sorry, I didn't explain this well. I meant that each of the teams picking in the top 5 should have a reasonable expectation that there guy will be a top 5 player at some point. Thats reasonabe for most drafts. If the 5th guy picked in a draft doesnt at least have a reasonable expectation of being really good, then either you suck at drafting or its a shallow draft. All of those guys are going to be very talented and have a high upside (including Embiid). They obviously won't all pan out. One of them will be a bust and never be more than a serviceable rotation player, 2 of them will be all stars at some point, and the other 2 will be ok/good but not great. We just don't know which of them they'll be yet.
you just couldn't be more wrong and there is an overwhelming body of evidence sitting in front of you that completely contradicts what you are saying.

and even within the parameters of your loving idiotic argument you suggest that there is that a 2/5 chance of a player being an all-star (a top 24 player), yet that teams should have a reasonable expectation that they're getting a top 5 player.

The ones they have are either backups at best or just bad (love you, Reggie). Never drafting a PF again seems like a bad way to address that issue.

I wouldn't draft Embiid in the Top-10 still. Recovering from Sports injuries fucks up the other systems in your body too, from either over or under use. I have no doubt that he'll be working as hard as possible to recover, but for someone as raw as him I could see it taking a year and a half or so just for him to get back to the level he is now.

You're making a huge gamble on him being an immediate difference maker when he finally plays if you take him.

He isn't raw.
He most certainly is. He was improving game to game last season before his injury and his number 1 projection was largely based on his growth. The most insane part of his success was that it looked like was adding new wrinkles on the fly. he has a great natural feel for the game on offense and is extremely fluid, but he still fouls a ton on defense and has a lot to learn. 1-2 years of stunted development harms his chances of success in the league
