Tokyo Game Show is coming in September so we're bound to hear more about the weirder side of PS4 then.

This might seem like a strange question but is there any easy way to see which Vita/PS4 games have a chinese localisation (Or potentially ones in the works)?

I don't have specific experience with that exact situation but I'd check out the Hong Kong PSN Blog: English: http://blog.asia.playstation.com/community/hk/en Traditional Chinese: http://blog.asia.playstation.com/community/hk/cht Simplified Chinese: http://blog.asia.playstation.com/community/hk/chs Or the Taiwanese blog (Traditional Chinese only): http://blog.asia.playstation.com/community/tw/cht And probably also keep an eye on Play-asia's list of upcoming titles, I think pretty much everything with a pending Chinese release gets listed there. Not sure if they go into Traditional/Simplified detail but you can probably do further research on your own once you know something exists: Complete list of PS4 Asian (as in Korea/Hong Kong/Taiwan) releases: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-1tf-49-en.html#fc=v:6 You can filter language to Chinese but I think it's broken so don't use it. The title usually spells out if it's the original (English or Japanese) version or if Chinese is an option, otherwise the product description page lists the languages. Same but for Vita: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-1ab-49-en.html#fc=v:6%7C19%7C29 univbee fucked around with this message at 14:19 on Jul 14, 2014 |

Managed to snag an 80gb PS3 off a JET heading home for $100. I was still kicking myself for selling the one I had about half a year ago, but I hadn't been able to motivate myself to spend the bucks to get another one. I'm glad I waited, since $100 even for one of the old models is still a steal. I'm still mainly only going to buy new games for my Vita, but it'll be nice to have the PS3 when stuff like Persona 5 rolls around, and I needed to go back and go through Tales of Xillia 2 really quick. Oh and I needed a PS3 for Idolm@ster All For One. I was pretty bummed when that came out and I didn't have the system for it. Plus now I can finally access all those wonderful free games I'm getting on Playstation Plus! Woot, free Demon Souls! And this month I got Crysis too!

Has anyone used Sondox for purchasing PSN cards? I recently made an account there since the prices are really good, but apparently it's going to be stuck in limbo since they want some sort of certified ID linking you to your paypal or for you to somehow prove you made an ebay purchase for account approval. I just wanted to buy a couple of 1k¥ cards for less than 15 dollars a piece

It's much cheaper overall to get higher value cards. The markup on a 10k yen card is about 15% but it's like 50% on a 1k card.

Not that I think anyone's going to race to buy it, but I think Rainbow Six is CERO-Z so unless you've got a Japanese Credit Card it won't be purchasable for you anyway. How long until they're pulled? Like, now, or a few days?

The end of Tuesday (i.e. today). PSN in Japan usually updates at midday so I'd expect them to stop selling midday Wednesday Japan time. The funny thing is, they just put up a bunch of pages and stuff on the PS3 store to celebrate having 800 titles, then 12 vanish at once.

Just wanted to pop in and say if anyone is interested in Japanese card game games you should avoid Z/X at all costs. I don't know how Nippon Ichi could fail so hard at making something as simple as a virtual version of their own card game, but they did. The stupidity of the way they handled it astounds me. What makes it even worse is that the real physical card game is pretty decent. Nothing too outstanding, but it's a nice new card game if you don't want to play Yu-gi-oh Vanguard or Pokemon. But the game just straight up sucks. I can go into more details on why if anyone cares, but for now I'm just going to say avoid it. I'd recommend Monster Monpiece before I'd recommend this game to even the most diehard TCG fan. It just keeps reinforcing how amazing of a game Weiss Schwarz was. I've yet to come across a card-game-based video game that got it right on so many levels (except the load times).

RadicalR posted:Looked this up. Weiss Schwarz *looks* interesting, but looks to be an incredible moneysink. Correct on all counts. That's what made the PSP game so great, was that you could get every single card from one of the series that made it into the game without needing to dump hundreds of dollars into packs for the real cards, as well as fanservice stuff like having the voices of characters from the anime narrate the games and having little cutscenes when you play climax cards. Plus there was a nice challenge system where you would get random requests mid-battle from your girlfriend to do or not do certain things which added a little spice to your strategy, and there was even a smart system in place so after you got a certain percentage of cards in one color you would unlock the option to just straight up buy individual cards in that color instead of betting on random packs. It was great stuff. You can learn all the game basics and cards on English sites, though the mid-battle requests that get thrown at you may take either a translation guide or a little basic Japanese card game language knowledge to get through. Anyway aside from the load times it completely blows any other card game video game(except maybe Culdcept) that I've played out of the water, and it only gets better if you're a big fan of any of the involved series.

So I bought the Japanese version of Atelier Totori, which comes with a 20 digit (XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX) product code for a custom theme, does anyone know how to actually input 20 digits into PSN? Because it only lets me input 12 digits (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) on Vita, PS3, and the SEN store.

Might it be for the Koei site? I remember that Namco switched to making you have to redeem codes on tales-ch for their first print bonuses.

Nevermind, the 20 digit code is for a URL which doesn't even exist any more. It has been lost to time. So basically, unless someone uploads the theme, the Atelier Totori Sofmap custom theme is unobtainable. Brilliant way to preserve history, digital world.

While too skint to feel like affording Destiny and the PS4 away on its second RMA, I got lucky with my hunt for Ishin and a friend in Japan set me up with the sound-track and the extras DVD: I shouldn't have waited so long, drat thing launched in March. Sony's betting big on Dragon Quest Heroes, targeting March 2015. Tokuiden cited for enemy encounter inspiration though still not a Musou game. Could find itself translated, hopefully acknowledgement of that happens quick because I'm probably going to pre-order an import the moment it opens up for it. It was followed in a magazine interview hinting that the actual next mainline DQ will come to the PS4, maybe PS3 also, if it's not simply stretching across multiple platforms entirely.

Square-Enix said at their shareholder conference a few months ago that they were thinking of bringing Dragon Quest back to PlayStation, but I don't know if that's just DQ Heroes or something more.

http://www.siliconera.com/2014/11/04/higurashi-cry-headed-playstation-3-vita/ Yes. This is the best news. Finally it will be possible to have all of Higurashi without needing to track down all 4 of the stupid DS games and all the random PC spinoffs. Plus full-voice and with real character graphics instead of the wonky hand-drawn PC ones. Now I can have all of Umineko and Higurashi on my PS3.

Guys like me who loved the family drama parts and couldn't care less about the mystery ate it up, but we were in the minority. And even I, as an apologist, have to admit that the way he tied it up as a whole was pretty lame for the most part. I still got tears in my eyes during the ending though, so I consider it a success.
