No person that has done actual unbiased research would build one aimed at reliable travel, end of story. I started looking for a camping rig recently, and people started asking if I was gonna get a bus, vanagon, or a eurovan (Because I work at a VW shop)... I had to reply that I am not looking for a novelty vehicle, I actually need a proper reliable vehicle for camping, and none of the above fit the bill. I ended up with this:  100X the vehicle over any VW for 1/10th the price? Yeah, I'll go ahead and go that route...
