The title refers to a skin game. In old school con parlance meaning the mark has a lot at stake (his skin) and you play your con differently than you would a normal mark. He got skinned alive. Holy poo poo that was a good read. Game over man game over

Stories evolve caharcters grow and change, writers grow and change often in manners we don't like and/or get sometimes. All of the things you liked about the books have been in a constant state of change in the first ten books they were just not changes you disagreed with and they diddn't rock dresden out of his little wizard niche he had going. But your opinion is as vaild as anyone else's on the internet. Just don't go turning this into what the Patrick rothfuss thread turned into for about six months there.

the writing has improved immeasurably over the course of the series but cringe worthy? never. mra? never. any flaws the characters have are there to highlight growth and understanding and maturity, you all seem to be seeing personal grievances in the characters / writing just chill and enjoy the books for what they are, light entertainment ment to distract us from the world around us a little bit and hopefully help us deal with it better. just chill.
