Is tonight the greatest moment in Dominick Cruz's life?

No.

The greatest moment in my life was realizing that I didn't need a belt to be happy.

I keep forgetting DC is 35.

That's partly why I don't like the idea of Cormier fighting again before the title. If he loses his shot it ain't like he'll be going on a few other runs. Cormier vs Jones is sellable and I don't think a Cormier vs Rumble or Cormier vs Lil Nog match happening before it will affect PPV buys all that much. Cormier should fight next year against Jones/Gustafsson winner, he'll be 36, and then if he loses he can already start looking at getting out of the sport or moving up to heavyweight. Heavyweights are usually a little older.

Dana didn't say anything official but he was leaning toward Dillashaw/Assunaco II being the next fight and he thinks Dan Henderson should go back to 185. No talk at all about retirement.

I saw some people elsewhere giving Barao the second. I think people wanted to give him the round just cause he didn't lose as bad. It was definitely the closest round.

lol Barao was basically steamrolled the second he got dropped in the first, the fight didn't really look all that competitive from that point on.

I mean there were a handful of times he'd get Dillashaw with a counter or a good strike, but then TJ would come back and make him pay for it.

Lombard vs Kim being relegated to co-main is much funnier to me. I know they expect it to be a snoozer and Bisping/Le are the bigger names but one of those fights is waaaay more important than the other one.

How is it going to work if Ludwig is moving to Colorado and Kampmann is coming to Sac?

I don't think a split camp for TJ will work because Duane has like...Nobody as a sparring partner out there. Maybe Kampmann will turn out to be a great coach, but I feel like this is a real bad time for Ludwig to be leaving.

TJ said in post fight presser, that while he in between fights, he will be visiting CO. But once training camp starts, he is staying with Alpha Male, and flying Ludwig to Sac.

I thought TJ said he would fly Ludwig out to his camps at Team Alpha Male so he could have "more eyes on him." Dillashaw will split his regular training between TAM and Colorado, and then when it's fight time he'll bring in Ludwig and get to work.

I think it's the right attitude since TJ is eager to see what he can learn from Kampmann, and that should make him more unpredictable.

it sucks for TJ to find a trainer that so clearly clicks with him and then right after his biggest achievement have it all change

also if Cruz ever gets healthy again it's gonna be an unenviable task to bring up new contenders and find him, Barao, and Faber fights without bringing the division to a grinding halt

What a surreal night! We usually want to see Jamie Varner get hurt but I think we were all praying for him and feeling his pain when his ankle snapped. Those replays were rough to watch. Dan Henderson literally had nothing for Daniel Cormier and I am sad. I wanted the shirt and hats that Hendo was rocking especially the one of him dropping the punch onto Michael Bisping as it turns into a flag. The apparel looks sick and I do believe in Hendo but Cormier is on another level. Cormier is so insanely strong. I thought I was tripping when he picked him up above his head and slammed him 2 or 3 times. Absolutely insane strength and I can't wait to see Daniel Cormier fight the winner. I hope it is Gus but I would love to see Jon Jones get man handled like that (doubt Jones will be the same as Hendo in that regard though).

The main event was just gang busters. I knew Dillashaw had a chance but I Really liked Barao so whatever. What an impressive beat down. Was Joe Rogan's feelings of "best performance" ever really justified though? I can think of a few other fights that impressed me more but at the same time this was the underdog wrecking the champion which we usually don't get to see.
