i used to play games where i named the characters after people from school too, except it was the sims and i would put them in mazes with a single plate of food in the middle and watch them get stuck in pools and drown because i removed the ladder etc.. but yeah im feelin dat nostalgia |

Uh oh, Japan is being terrorized by aliens! Luckily it has been a couple days now so we have our first squad back and ready for duty. Check out this lineup  I have to leave for a couple hours but I'll continue from here later tonight. If you want your guy to carry specific gear instead of what I give them you can pick from these currently: Armor Vest: Move Faster, Less HP Armor: Move Slower, More HP Items you can pick 2 of these Alien Trophies: Carry a bunch of alien pieces on a necklace or whatever, helps you not panic Battle Scanner: Like a grenade/UMV thing that provides vision of the map Laser Scope: More accuracy Ceramic Plating: More HP Medikit: Medics carry these anyway and get 3 uses instead of 1 like most classes Grenades: AP grenades (mostly useless), HE (blows up cover and does a little damage), Smoke (Defense bonus to anyone inside) or Flashbang (fucks aliens up for a couple turns) |

Mighty Stalker is the first Lance Corporal so he gets a customary fedora and Dick Tracy color scheme and shoulderpads I gave you Covering Fire so you can take reaction shots at enemies that shoot at your teammmates and shin42k is a grenadier now. |

a few months ago i bought the expansion and then started a game of vanilla x-com thinking oh yeah gonna play one then the other and then i found out that the expansion just expands the main game and it was too too late for me |

 Another day, another successful operation. Sketches of Spain sustained our first non-fatal injury by getting blasted by a flying drone's repair beam while gunning down a bunch of poo poo like a hero I downloaded Living Shield's brain in to a computer and he has been resurrected as a minigun robot that will eventually have armor plating if it survives and be a real living shield.

I don't know what the tech tree is like in Long War yet but apparently you get psionics a lot earlier so hopefully I can get a Psi Lab up and running ASAP and at least one of y'all has The Gift. Long War really is a lot longer though all these missions and now another UFO and I still haven't even finished the first research project. We got a long war ahead of us...  I'm debating who to bring to this crashed UFO because I expect a Council Mission soon and I want a strong squad all rested up for that. Probably gonna grab a few more rookies from the thread for this...

 Going at this UFO with some newcomers. The team is lead by Lance Corporal Mighty Stalker with veteran Specialist Windmill Slayer second in command. Living Shield tries his hand once more at the battlefield in new robotic form, and we are joined by Privates First Class Zooted Heh, Poop Zilla, and Tim Bus loaded up with scanner drones and smoke grenades.  Operation Devil's Night, deep in the Nigerian wilderness. Good luck, all.  Apparently a swamp in Nigeria.  WMS approaching downed UFO, TiMBuS on right.  Living Shield seeks redemption... and unloads on a Sectoid with 25% chance to hit  blap blap  blap blap But poor planning flushes the pilot out the back of the ship, flanking Poopzilla. Sorry Poopzilla  R.I.P.  But Living Shield craves vengeance  And Timbus blasts some chump nerd-rear end alien sitting at his computer  It just doesn't stop  and WMS finally blasted a fool with a rocket No promotions, and we're down one, but the mission was a success. Good work Living Shield I don't think you missed a single shot.

No one did anything cool last mission except Arnie so here's an Arnie action shot where he was sniping some hooligan Sectoids from ontop a roof. But Arnie also panicked like a bitch when the very last alien mind probed him at the end lmao But holy poo poo y'all those promotions!  that's 6 new Lance Corporals! |

So far we've dispatched the first Thin Man with ease because he dropped in right in to Bo Pep and Gimps' Overwatch and got blasted, but this is really not a good map for Arnie and there's nowhere he can safely get a good eye over the battlefield. Now we're directly opposite a group of sectoids and a Thin Man across a No Man's Land of low cover and Bo Pep just got hit. He didn't go down but things aren't looking good and I don't have a good way to approach. |

Gimp and SSR saved the day, gimp used his crazy grenade skills to blow up all the enemies' cover and then Satanic Sex Ritual distracted them and drew enemy fire without even breaking a sweat Then Satanic Sex Ritual and Ectral gunned them down while Bo Pep deployed smoke and healed himself up. Nice teamwork everyone. |
