This was one of my first attempts at non-metal metallics, and it's a bit too yellow for my taste; if tasked with doing this again I'd either skip out on the NMM, or do it with some glazes. Originally used for someone's Blood Angels army, and who gave it back to me a few months ago because he didn't want to keep it around anymore.

Any unit can be a scoring unit, unless:
• It is a Swooping Flying Monstrous Creature, a Zooming Flyer or is a unit currently embarked on a Zooming Flyer.
• It has a special rule specifying that it never counts as a scoring unit.
• It is currently Falling Back (if the unit Regroups it immediately reverts to being a scoring unit again).
• It is a building or fortification that is unclaimed (claimed buildings count as a scoring unit from the claiming player’s army).

Swarms posted:

If, when allocating Wounds to a unit with the Swarms special rule, two or more models could be chosen as the closest enemy, the closest enemy is always the model with the least number of Wounds. If a model with the Swarm special rule suffers an unsaved Wound from a Blast (any size) or Template weapon, each unsaved Wound is multiplied to two unsaved Wounds unless that Wound has the Instant Death special rule. However, a unit entirely composed of models with the Swarm special rule is not slowed by difficult terrain, but must test for Dangerous Terrain as normal.

So yeah, swarms can score. Anything can score UNLESS it's from the above list, or it says in their entry (ex. Death Company).

Plus it's a walker so it's the slowest transport ever.

Guns: It either is shooting crappy anti-armor stuff or slightly less crappy anti-infantry. It's BS2. That awesome gatling gun is heavy 3d6? So an average of 3 or 4 hits per turn. Hot drat!

I like the 13 armor and 5 HP, but it's just not good at anything. No one gives a poo poo about Orks doing massed STR 6 AP 4 shooting because they already have massed STR 7 AP 4 shooting.

I see people sticking 6 burnaz in the Morkanaut, 3 of which are meks, as well as take the KFF and grot riggers so it's sporting a 5+ invuln, IWND, and repairs immobilized/weapon destroyed on a 4+ up to 3 times. It's not necessarily GOOD, mind you.

Do you have alternating activations, individual unit activations, or do you keep the sequential phase system? Or do you do something different.

There's a lot of cool mechanics out there, but they would require substantial changes to the 40k rule framework.

At that point we may as well just make a whole new ruleset from the ground up.

Have an actual move stat, so different races are intrinsically faster or slower, without the need to bolt on extra rules. Turn fleet back to assault after running, and take it off most stuff. etc.

They ditched the move stat in the transition to 3rd to help streamline things. I'm not sure bringing it back would be the hottest idea (we already sorta have it with infantry moving 6" and bikes moving 12"). I'd be fine with army-wide rules altering things a little though, like said Eldar adding +1" to move, or just the ability to Run faster.

So on the plus side, they went down in points, dedicated transport option, more shots on their guns, no gets hot, possibility for BS3 if they don't move, and can reroll a single charge dice.

On the negative side, no S6, no ignore cover, their save got worse (6+ from a 4+), and no options beyond ammo runts. No painboy, no cybork bodies, nuttin'.

So what will end up happening, is that unless you stick their happy asses in a fortification or something, they will most likely cruise around in a battlewagon firing unreliable AP weapons and never get to use their BS3, making them expensive shoota boyz that might shred something important if said target is somehow out in the open.
