I am bummed dudes, totally bummed. This World Cup has set us back 12 years. The big difference of course is that unlike 2002 we knew that our 'Golden Generation' would be back, and since then we have had a fantastic international run, that is until this tournament.

At the end of the 'Golden Generation' we still had Ronaldo to hang our dreams on. Now things are so much more uncertain. Bento's reluctance to bring in the youth, and instead relying on the old has really messed things up for us. I have some hope in the future as we have some promising young players coming up, and the new "B" system our top teams have put together should help develop a future crop of fantastic players... BUT, I doubt we will ever see the likes of Figo, or Ronaldo again. Maybe 33 year old Ronald will be an alpha as gently caress dude. Maybe in those four years he will grow a wicked beard with a grey streak in it and finally become a leader. Or, maybe, he'll just be poo poo and old.

Whatever happens, the most important thing going forward is getting a real manager. Someone with a vision greater than "I will play my old buddies from Sporting."

Ronaldo left the Ghana match injured.

That's the punchline for our participation in the WC.

Ronaldo has been so high on tramadol i bet he doesnt even remember what happened. He looked dazed after scoring that goal today.

He was overcome with emotion after managing to keep his "one goal per World Cup" streak alive.

No, he actually managed to get his other knee hosed up. He is going back to Madrid with two dodgy knees.

It's amazing.

Hey guys I just found an awesome piece of AMERICAN JOURNALISM about Ronaldo.

Why It’s Still OK to Hate Sexy Bastard Cristiano Ronaldo After He Saved Team USA

But let’s get back to the pitch, since that’s what really, or should really, matter for an athlete. Even if we cast aside his smarmy layer of arrogance and tacky commercialism, there is at times an undeniable ugliness to the way he plays. For as many beautiful goals as he scores, bad sportsmanship doesn’t even cover his willingness to exaggerate injuries and resort to angry theatrics to knock his opponents out of games.

That's completely true. I am incredibly jealous of this man and I won't even front.

Ronaldo may be many things, but at least he doesn't use charity to cheat the taxman and possibly to launder drug money like a certain Argentine dope-fuelled midget.

Pres of the FPF saying he has full confidence in Bento.

I guess we'll have to have a disaster in the qualifiers before this gently caress gets the axe.

When was the last time we qualified directly to a competition instead of fighting tooth and nail in a second place knockout round?

That's what makes it so terrible. At least 2 more years of Bento.

EDIT:

Our group for Euro qualifiers also has Serbia and Denmark, so.... Get ready for another scrappy play off...

We also have France, but those two games won't matter for anything because FIFA-UEFA is loving stupid
