Not to get weird, but did anyone else find it great that Brie comes in and says that Steph doesn't own her and she's not going to be a helpless bystander in the decision about her future? That's pretty subtly empowering for this industry.

The pop for that line sounded like it was pretty popular among the women in the audience, too, I noticed.

Something along the lines of "yes, that would make a great T-shirt"

E: stop doing things in that conference set that require pull backs, it breaks the illusion every time.

I completely agree with you; I've been sick of them using Brie as a prop since forever, and to see her actually be like 'hey, I can make loving decisions for myself' and smack the poo poo out of Steph is great.

Now let's hope that they actually follow up on it (they probably won't because hahaha women with agency in this company :sigh:)

Yeah and even though I think people get too uptight about that stuff sometimes, it legit made me really happy and yay for Brie and yay for the writers, I heartily approved of that line. :)

I started writing out a big YAY FEMINISM post but then I realised that actually, in the grand scheme of things, WWE's still only caught up to the early 90s in this department. I mean, during the Paige-Alicia match most of the commentary was just JBL and Lawler trading incredibly sexist 'jokes'.
It's still good and a big step up that I would not have expected out of WWE, but I'm saving my celebrations for when they start treating women equally across the board.
