If we don't get more Pornstache and Fischer in season three I'm going to start my own mini riot.

Just marathoned both seasons over the past two weeks. Larry and piper really are perfect for each other.

So why did poussey go to jail? All I saw in her flashback was she was ready to pull a gun on some brass but her dad stopped that before it happened.

She has a drinking problem and does very rash things while drunk. Doesn't seem like a stretch that she pulled something and got busted. She almost shot that German Officer.

Xoidanor posted:Did Red go to jail for assaulting the mob lady or something? I don't think so. She's arguing with her husband afterwards about how the mob husband wants them to pay for the damage, and they later end up repaying the debt by apparently making their freezer available for the mob to store bodies in. It seems like that whole deal was the start of their involvement in the mob's actual crimes, where previously they'd just hung around and socialized with them.

I remember a scene where she catches the mob boss's attention when she offers some advice. Maybe she ends up doing some sort of job for him outside their restaurant, and gets caught.

Red mentions something about crooked contracts being what got her in prison in the first place, or something like that. Remember how she smuggled contraband into the prison through the grocery deliveries because she arranged their contracts with a bunch of hospitals and prisons to provide lovely food and skim profits or whatever it was?

Heavily medicated, of course, but you can see near the end of the season that she's actually (somewhat) considerate of other people's feelings /situations. Like, she actually seeks out the warden guy leading that 'safeplace' group yadda yadda. Maybe she's just currying favor for later, but it legitimately seems legit in the moment.

Of course the answer is always "American Prison System", but the staff is not even concerned that they have a loudly ticking bomb under them. Crazy Eyes isn't in psych because something her parents did, some kinda deal or something.

I've seen both seasons and I am still very confused about what Healy's game is??? Like why did he just leave Piper to die and then... Hey, guess what! Furlough for you! Did I miss something???

Did I miss something??? Yeah, Healy in particular seems schizophrenic in this way. I think it has to do with his wife. Healy is a weird MRA type, so when his wife seems to be dismissive of him, he takes it out on all women. When he has any clarity about his relationship, he starts actually doing his job properly. He probably resented Piper because he was attracted to her, and then she went and symbolically rejected him by embracing lesbianism and acting up. Healy's reversal in S2 might reflect his self-awareness that he was punishing Piper for an imagined sleight in a nonexistent relationship.

There's also a scene just before he gets her the furlough where he mentions that when he started the job he used to actually help people. Getting it for her was meant to be a return to that, as well as a sort of apology for letting a nutjob try shank her.

Rewatching it, I forgot how amazing Pornstache's return is, when he's walking down the corridor in slo-mo, giving shots to everyone for various reasons. Like, they've done a disservice by trying to make him the villain, and simultaneously making him the most consistently entertaining character.
