Everything is starting to come together in episode 6 and I'm loving it.

This season is so much stronger than the first so far. Just finished episode 7, and I'm loving it. Less focus on Piper really freed things up and the show is much more engaging as a result. Really can't wait to see where this goes.

Currently on episode 5: Only comment so far is that Pipers mum's face really reminds me of post a disfigurement Mason Verger from the film Hannibal.

They're really cranking up the lesbimeter this season. It's great. And I'm a gaydude.

8 or 9 episodes in, and the only let down so far is that they introduce a whole new prison and characters in the first episode just to bring piper back literally minutes later. I mean, I knew she'd eventually end up back 'home', but it felt like they were going to go back and forth between the prisons for at least half the season or so. Vee is great. So So is so so (nah she's pretty great too in her own special way). Also amused me that I was thinking the only character in the show that seemed a genuinely good person was Susan (e8) so it seemed only natural that she gets fired!

Having finished the whole season, I thought it was much better than Season One. Sort of taking the focus off of Piper helped out a great deal. The ancillary characters are so much more interesting and have better back stories. Also, I'm pretty sure Rosa is now my favorite character on the show, and I'm glad she got a bigger focus.

Oh my god, the speech Boo makes in ep12 is the best thing. EDIT: All right, the scene with P and Taystee totally made me tear up :I EDIT 2: oh my loving the reveal about the AW's husband. Old Boot fucked around with this message at 15:30 on Jun 7, 2014 |

I enjoy the intro song for this show but I am so so so happy that netflix skips it when you're watching consecutive episodes now

The fact that the real Piper left prison, wrote a book about it and then had a TV show made about it is just brilliant. You can just see show Piper doing that sort of poo poo. 7 episodes in and it's a great season so far. They could make the entire show nothing but Morello and Suzanne and I'd be satisfied though. I do hope Alex comes back. EDIT: And Mendez.

Just finished the second season after binging through it all last night. Pretty good. Larry's story is sort of done and I'm glad. People dislike Piper but Larry is so much more annoying and I love when characters call him out on his bullshit philosophical talks. Wonder what the next season will bring.

MorgaineDax posted:There better be a huge payoff for those two to make all this screentime on them worth it. NOPE. A whole season of Daya being an idiot and yelling at Bennett to confess he's the dad so he can get sent to prison. Because that way they'll be equals? And because she doesn't want her kid to not have a dad? Hormones or not, you are dumb as gently caress, lady. Polly and Larry are a more likable "couple" than you two idiots. There better be some better drama with you two next season.

I'm watching this on a Roku - is anyone else having glitchy subtitles? subs for Spanish speakers never display, and in the one episode where there were scenes in Germany they displayed all the subs in Spanish instead of English. Good practice for my Spanish I guess Also, laughing at aggressive aggression!

I was getting the same thing on the ATV. Often defaulting to Spanish audio and subtitles, I kept having to turn the English subs on and off. Super annoying, I thought might be down to my DNS service, I guess not.

I've got two episodes left. Yeah, this show really upped its game this season. Or at least minimized the bad parts somewhat. Old ladies shanking people is an inherently hilarious concept.

Always worth putting the episode number next to the spoilers guys, only takes a second. Neat, the finale is 90 minutes long. Why is this show the easiest thing ever to marathon?

Episode 10: was really happy when Nicky took the drugs to Red. and holy poo poo at Crazy Eyes' beatdown of Poussey! Think I missed one thing though: what led to Poussey finding the hooch in the ceiling?

Yeah in one of the earlier episodes Vee pushed her to sell it, but she refused as she wanted to give it out to her friends instead. Also the description of (finale) Toy Story is amazing.

The final sequence is going down as one of my all time favourite ways to end a season. Great finale, great season. Why can't we get 2x 13 ep runs a year? Waiting another 12 months is gonna suuuuuck.

I don't mind Piper, as long as she's not dealing with her tangled love-life. Which, unfortunately, is the vast minority for the time. I'm surprised that (season spoilers) her lying about Red's shop never came back to get her in some way. Feels like they're setting up something with Red's failing business and her mob ties. Team Golden Girls! I want to see their backstory. Caputo also owned. Finale spoiler There's got to be a version of the finale script where V just got stuck in that outflow pipe and died, right? What a loving idiot. What actually happened was better though. So, so much. Hope they do more with the Latinos next season, I want more Gloria. Surprised at the cast retention -- I think the only recurring character from last season that dropped out in this one was that gay medic who worked at the prison. Hope that next season can manage to keep most of these characters, and find some more things for Janae, Yoga Jones and some of the other under-used characters to do.
