My personal favorite is that the final boss of FFXIII isn't immune to instant death.

The rearmost part of FF5's final boss is immune to the Death spell, but not all instant death effects. Get the other 3 parts out and Odin can Zantentsuken the last one, chopping the final boss into pieces.

I've been playing a lot of Skyrim recently, because I only just got it thanks to Steam Summer Sales, and I just did the Clavicus Vile quest.

I have no idea why Barbas sounds almost exactly like Woody Allen, but for some reason its the funniest thing and I love it :3:

When I started that quest, I was following Barbas... and ran into a group Thalmor justicars. Who ran into a bandit encampment. And while the bandits and Thalmor were duking it out, a bear roared, announcing that it had entered the fray.

poo poo had gotten serious.

Also it was mentioned in the last thread, but if you look at certain river (like the one south of Whiterun) you can see fish spawning up the waterfalls :3:

With Hearthfire, you can catch the fish. They have Salmon Roe. Due to its extremely potent Waterbreathing effect they're part of the most valuable potion in the game.

There was the glitch in Skyrim where if you got thwomped by a giant you would launch into the stratosphere. The devs thought it was hilarious that they intentionally didn't fix it any of their official patches.

It's a function of overkill being converted into momentum, which is why things ragdoll dramaticall when hit by fireballs. It works off of base damage, though, which is why your 400-damage daedric warhammer doesn't launch things into the stratosphere. Its base damage is still 27, just hit with a million multipliers. The Giant's club has a base damage of 230, which is why it tends to launch.

Gyarados can tactically become evil to slay washing machines who would otherwise blunt its rampages.

I like that that actually describes a real situation.

So does he use it when he's low on health? That's really the main thing I'm asking here. The impression I get is he only uses it when he's scared. I'm totally down with an unbeatable fight that has that much little details behind it but it just seems a little weird to be that he has a big gently caress-off attack that he wouldn't use if he's about to die.

With SMT superbosses I've just started imagining they just want to show off their cool moves but if you stop them they get really pissed and murder you for not being a good sport.

I probably wouldn't have defeated Matador and White Rider in SMT4 if they used 5 Antichthons a round.

I'm genuinely not sure what thread to put this in, so it's winding up here by default because I like it: I've tripped something in Bravely Default, be it intentional or not, that has caused the entire game to just really loving hate one of my party members, Ringabel. Since starting Chapter 5 literally every boss is out for his blood; he's not integral to my strategy either, he's neither the tank, chief damage-dealer or the healer. He's not even the most killable, the game has just arbitrarily decided that he needs to die in every fight, and will pull out attack plans that would kill far more important members of my party to do so.

This turned from 'weird and annoying' to 'hilarious' when I realized that the AI will compromise its own strategies to do it. Support enemies will go on the offensive, despite having a job to do, specifically to murder Ringabel. It happens so predictably that I've started pre-emptively queueing up revives on him, because it's such a given that he's going to die.

The game does have some sort of aggro system, since you have accessories that can manipulate it. I have no idea how it actually works, though.

Dude this camo looks like he is wrapped in k'nex and balloon animals. It's goofy. The Boss looks better in it but that is because her version is less goofy. Snake is wearing a tactical fanny pack

He does that even if his camouflage is solid black, the soviet flag on one side and the american flag on the back, or covered in ducks.

How I handle Freeside quests is weird as poo poo because I try to do them efficiently, so when I jaunt in to chat with Julie about medicine supply I also convince one of the guards to enter the sex trade, then turn left and threaten a guy who got punched in the face so much his face is deformed to give me everything he owns. A guy runs up to me to warn me about the gate to the New Vegas Strip, and before he knows it he's back to being an escort. Then I use knowledge of economic theory and practice to collect more debts.

That's because Tetra Master is random.

I've seen the numbers behind it and it is so, so random. Like a 0P21 ain't beating an CA9B but gaps less than 4 points (which is 90% of the game including the mandatory card tournament) are still up to the whims of fate.

A thing I think I mentioned in my LP, is that the item crafting in Dragon Quest 8 doesn't get too far ahead of shops. Even with absurd luck with item drops you don't get anything that would knock the game out of balance. Yet it's still a worthy bonus, hitting a perfect balance item crafting systems don't normally hit.

Final Fantasy V's ending changes depending on how well you did in the final battle. Anyone who dies against NeoExDeath doesn't escape the Void when everybody else does, leaving them absent for the epilogue.
