In Dragon's Dogma 2 there's a Sphinx who gives you riddles with treasure rewards for solving them. The first riddle "The Riddle of the Eyes" is kind of a fun screw you to the player. The Sphinx directs you to a dungeon right next to where she is, asking you to bring her the most valuable item from it. The dungeon is actually fairly short but is absolutely crammed full of enemies so it is a slog to get through. You get to the end and find a chest with a rotten apple in it. You might think this is a metaphor and bring it back to the Sphinx but no, this is not the correct answer. Instead what you're actually supposed to do is go into the dungeon, turn around and climb up into an alcove above the entrance which has the real item. So you don't even need to go through the dungeon.

Started playing Immortals of Aveum and I have to give it to them. At the very beginning in the slums chests contain 1 or 2 gold. Then when you leave the area and break other chests they give you like 200-300 gold

I liked Heavy Rain until the killer reveal. They should really have written some other options in there because the way I was playing it was wildly out of character

Heavy Rain has a lot of cool moments but it is ultimately ruined by having the killer be one of the playable characters.

Especially the scene that gets a flashback which reveals in the couple of minutes the character was off screen they did a bunch of killer poo poo.

It probably would have been received better if it hadn't been attached to the franchise it was and instead was just a new IP.

Encased, which is a game strangely similar to Fallout 1, has a ton of almost-but-not-quite-insignificant stat modifiers for just about everything you do. Ate spicey food? Got wet? Took a piss recently? Fail to pick a lock within the last couple minutes? All these add to the stack of stat effects going on at any time.

That reminds me of how The Outer Worlds has a bunch of buff items but their duration was way too low and so it never felt worth doing.

For games that change things up between sequels there's the Jak series where the first was basically a 3D Mario style platformer and then the sequels were more open world games. Introducing vehicles and guns. Then of course the last one was a racing game.

Playing Jedi Survivor and still a fan of using your lightsaber as a flashlight.

Playing Jedi dress up with Cal in Jedi Survivor is fun. Something else I thought was fun was how when you open up a chest the animation can change. Empty handed Cal will just open it up normally but if you have your lightsaber out he'll slash it open.

A really goofy thing about Jedi Survivor is that they took the gay reaction alien design from Rise of Skywalker and made him gay.

They did a similar thing with Fallen Order where Cal's master is training him and tells him to do something "faster and more intense"
