I'm kind of in agreement that people are being too hard on the sequel. It wasn't even close to being as good as the original, but it never was going to be. I had very low expectations, and coming out of the movie my initial reaction was "good enough." I laughed a lot, and it was fun to spend time with the characters again. My main concern was that it would be nothing but references to the first movie, and thankfully it wasn't. In fact, with there being no SeaBass until the post credits scene, and no Harland Williams cop even though I could have sworn I read somewhere that he was in it, I actually almost felt at the end like I could have enjoyed a few more references to the first film.
